  Breaking News: Big Trouble with the Watchtower

  a couple of weeks ago, an ex-bethelite(10 years) by the name of mel smith was disfellowshipped.

  i understand that he still lives in ny are and has a mortgage company.

  evidently, he was hurt while serving at the farm and watchtower did some horrible things to him.

  This post isnt at all out of the realm of the crap that the WT and its ilk pull on people, both inside and outside of the Borg. They railroaded Ray Franz. Then railroaded everybody he ever knew...then DFd him for having lunch with his landlord who was an EXJW but not his wife. They DO spy on people. They DO show favoritism towards Elders kids over others. They DID join the United Nations but condemn anyone who even joins the YMCA. They DO take kids away from getting life saving blood transfusions by kidnapping and hiding them. They DO take children to meetings and bible studies against the will of the parents. They DO lie in a court of law and DO recommend to divorcing JWs in custody battles to not only lie themselves but to teach their children to lie in court.

  Yep...this isnt out of the realm at all.

  While I was a JW from 84-97, we were discouraged from going to college, discouraged from having children, discouraged from taking jobs that would make us have to miss meetings, were ENCOURAGED to go into trades so that we could be more prepared for post armageddon rebuilding, and particularly be self employed so we could take time out of work any time to go to conventions. We were encouraged as employers to take on JWs who were pioneering and so would "understand" when they had to go to meetings, conventions and pioneer.

  The people were mostly NOT educated, NOT confident outside the confines of the hall, had low self esteem and were on every homeopathic medicine on the planet trying to fight their depression.

  Generalizations or not, most of what Barbara described was in the three congregations I belonged to.

  Baptism Questions??

  this forum tends to get me thinking about things from the past and then roll my eyes.. i was recalling a particular pharasee in the congregation who used to love showing everyone how "smart" he was.. when i would go over the questions with someone, we would fly through them because it was usually with kids who were raised as jw's and could answer then in their sleep.

  (besides the fact it was an "open book" quiz.).

  well, mr pharasee used to always make it into a marathon session and take 2-3 hours to go over one section of the questions with someone.. he could take a simple question like "what is god's name?

  i met two sisters while i was walking my dog.

  of course they were quick to stop and talk to and easy mark like me.

  JWs come to your door loaded for bear. Think about it...magazines, bibles, pamphlets, brochures, practice giving those presentations at the hall, and Reasoning From The Scriptures including "Overcoming Objections". Common.... if you cant take the heat stay the hell out of the kitchen and OFF my PORCH!

  Poor JWs my ass....if you cant back up what you "believe" then perhaps you shouldnt be out pedaling it to make some kind of brownie points with Jehoober.

  Ive been hearing about this wisking away of patients for years now. It says in their literature to do whatever is necessary to remove the patient from this situation...meaning if someone is getting a court order to force the treatment. Absolutely it happens and OFTEN.

  Welcome LTS! I used to see the Elders wives sitting there upstairs after meetings while their husbands were downstairs taking care of whatever business it was. And that was almost every meeting. I didnt realize until I lived with the PO and his wife what a lonely existence being married to an elder is. They are CONSUMED by the JWs.

  reasons for the new song book, according to a dub

  just asked a loyal dub i know why has the org now given out a song book, with so many songs taken out?

  she looked at her convention notes and replied that the soceity said that some of the songs in the old song book were too difficult for new people to learn to sing.. and this was said with all seriousness... she totaly brought it!.

  That song book was such a shock from having sung the old Protestant, Lutheran, Methodist songs for my whole life. It was like...god...what ARE these?? Not ONE song even remotely close to any of the ones Id been singing...like those old songs were dirty or evil. It took me a long time to get used to that. I hated a lot of the JW songs. They were too LONG or too BORING or too HARD or just stupid. And when they came out with the Kingdom Orchestra version with squeaking clarinets and off key brass playing them??? OHMYGOD.

  Ugh... I remember my daughter gave me a kitty sticker...a tiny 1" kitty sticker with sparkles, that I put on the cover of my song book. My husband wouldnt let me USE THAT BOOK because I desicrated Jehovahs SONG BOOK. So with that thinking, they will have to do what the Jews do and bury all the old song books because they are too sacred to throw out or burn or shred or whatever. My guess is they dont burn. LOL

  H1N1 Swine Flu WTS Letter

  my wife said that a letter from the wts was read at the kh yesterday.. she said that ones are fearful about the upcoming winter viruses in the u.s. therefore the wts recommended that ones cough and sneeze into ones clothing, elbow, but not into ones hands.

  if one is sick, then do not come to the kh.

  the wts recommended washing ones hands.

  I suppose the WTS felt that like everything else, the sheep had no clue how to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze and needed to be told this as well.

  What WOULD they do without Mother Borg? tsk... wipe their boogers all over the back of the chair in front of them at the Kingdom Hall maybe? Sneeze all over the microphone before handing it back to the ministerial servant? Yes...poor stupid sheep...need to be told everything.

  the witness evidently made money on his book and if it was an "approved" book, the society would be providing it free of charge.. i don't know who wrote the book but it's circulating around.

  an elder's wife said she'd let my mother borrow the book if she wanted to.

  when my mother yold her sister, my aunt strongly cautioned her as to the impropriety of it all.

  Normal people know that anything printed by that rabid cult is worthless trash that borders on hate propaganda.

  Its not borderline at ALL. It IS hate propaganda. Show me ANYTHING in those rags that says ANYTHING even decent about ANY other nonJW people or nonJW organizations. Show me ONE. And we were all members of this hateful organization!

  Just because they SMILE when they say "You are a miserable nasty sinning devil worshipping apostate evil slave class worldly person" doesnt make it ok.

  If there is one thing this cult is..its CONTROLLING. COntrol information, control who is acceptable to live and who isnt, control kingdom hall deeds, control government officials, control their own members, control dissemination of negative information, control family relationships....control control control.
