  I had a botox injection in my eye muscle yesterday.............

  Anything that is happening close to my eyes, in my opinion is gonna be scary. Ive have three child births with no drugs, a hernia repair, a hysterectomy and an appedectomy....and wouldnt get lasix LOL!

  i guess obama didn't get the memo from the governing body regarding higher education.... it is our responsibility as lawmakers and educators to make this system work.

  but it is the responsibility of every citizen to participate in it.

  and so tonight, i ask every american to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training.

  Sylvia...I bet you probably could find CANADA on a globe too! :) My sister and I used to use a globe for games spinning it and closing our eyes and finding a country...then we would say "Im thinking of a country that begins with 'T'!" And the other person would have to find it.

  I do agree that ejumakashun starts with PARENTS. It would be nice if more took the time to read to their kids at minimum (and not just mindless religious literature). My two youngest LOVE to read and it has done them a lot of good in school to have that love. We used to not only read to them, we had computer word games to help them spell, flash cards for math, and everything was a learning opportunity when we were out, making it fun. They are all honor students. I screwed up becoming a JW but I rectified that....and they are ALL headed for college. (even though they will be paying for the education until they retire now :) Florida has a lotto supported scholarship program that pays 100% of tuition at community colleges and 75-100% of tuition at state universities, and THAT is how they will be able to go!

  What are you going to give up on Lent?

  well i was listening to the news this morning and they were talking about lent starting ash wednesday the 25th , i believe.

  they talked about how on lent you are suppose to give up something you like or crave.. .

  wikipedia says there are traditionally forty days in lent which are marked by fasting, both from foods and festivities, and by other acts of penance.

  damn...this economy sucks.

  its making me crazy.

  i work for sams club and being as its a part of walmart and walmart is almost recession proof, you wouldnt think id be worried about my job going away.

  Wow you guys...Im sorry it has happened or will be shortly. Scares the crap outta me. I mean....hell we cant ALL be out sitting on the curb can we? The banks cant own ALL our homes can they? The banks in turn being turned into government controlled entities which own our homes... or closing altogether. I mean its like the dog who chases the cars every time they go by...what would he do with it if he CAUGHT it one day?

  Ok, government, you made us lose our jobs, we lost our money, we lost our homes, we're selling off our assets to survive, glutting the unemployment lines and the food stamps lines, and standing in line for DAYS for jobs flipping burgers someplace, losing our health benefits, not able to send our kids to college, or the kids not able to find jobs after college and then not being able to repay their college loans...

  Meanwhile...the CEOs of these companies who are being "bailed out" are getting MILLIONS in pay and compensation and flying around in private jets and getting millions in golden parachutes...

  I found out this weekend when I went in on Sunday that everyone who used to be on time and a half on Sundays no longer are scheduled to work on Sundays so the company doesnt have to pay that exhorbitant amount out every month! New hires get an extra $1 an hour on Sundays and anyone who was grandfathered into the time and a half thing that used to exist was really cleaning up on Sundays. But...the company does what it has to do and that extra money will go to hiring 5 new part time workers.

  Those old timers arent happy about that cut in their pay...but it beats losing their jobs.

  Great letter! Mine was like ...9 pages long LOLOL! I bet they got to that last paragraph about giving evidence to your wife to remarry and went "SEE??? See all he wants to do is leave Jehovahs organization to go COMMIT ADULTERY and FORNICATE!" and the rest of it became excuses you made to give yourself permission to go do that.

  You know how it is....straining gnats and swallowing camels.

  So glad you are OUT!!

  How do you answer "you research just to criticize"?

  minimus' thread about research got me to thinking about a friend who recently accused me of researching just to purposely find something wrong so i could justify my actions (of becoming inactive).. how would you answer this?.

  Jeff, others might think Im crazy to say this...but if you think there is something there you need to resolve yet, go back. You will find out that it will NEVER be the same as it was before with the "friends" and your thinking process will not allow you to stomach the drivel they are spewing to you and expecting you to swallow unquestioningly day after day, week after week... and I believe you will soon leave again but that nagging thought that maybe its better on that side of the fence will be resolved.

  Those people are not your friends just because they label themselves as such. Where are they now? Would true friends desert you because you dont think the same way they do? No..they sure wouldnt.

  My mother in law went back after DAing herself in 99. She thought she could return to the way it was...and she went through the groveling and humiliation to get herself reinstated and everything. And less than six months after her reinstatement she realized how godless this organization was and left again...never to look back.

  If you are wanting friends honey, the planet has 6.5 billion people on it. Get out there :)

  i panicked on the way to work yesterday.

  i left my hubby at home because we were having our roof replaced and when i was headed out of the neighborhood, there they were.

  i wondered how this was going to affect him.

  If your Kingdom Hall has a large territory then the visit rate is lower. In Chicago, for instance, because there were so many Kingdom Halls, the territories were worked over and over and over much to the chagrine of the residents there. When you have visited a territory so often that you know the first names of the peoples whose doors you are knocking on...you are definitely working the territory too much and have probably squeezed every last convert out of it a long time ago and have become a nuisance.

  If you havent seen them in 3-1/2 years I wouldnt worry about an onslaught unless he invites them back.
