Thanks OzGirl. I think that's the article. I've been out and just got home to have a look.
Nice to see someone from Australia.
this may have been posted before.
however, if you want to read the article about jw shunning and denial of this practice, then have a read.
there is mention of redefining "charity" in terms of how that operates.. http://www.smh.com.au/national/jehovahs-witnesses-a-cruel-cult-20130315-2g5x3.html.

There may be a way to find the entire article. It might take some time and searching. I think it would be excellent to have this type of evidence kept for all who disclaim most of what the evil worldly people say.
Yes, they like to point out that there is a lack of proof. So I will try to find the date, time, place etc. I do know it was said at a time when sexual abuse was being addressed by the courts. I think Steven Unthank had quite a lot to do with this happening
i was looking at the september 2015 issue of the watchtower, which, unlike the simplified and study editions, appears to be aimed at non-jws.
a couple of articles caught my eye that quote biblical sources which are somewhat less than convincing to a non-believer.. firstly 'what do jehovah's witnesses believe?
' says that the core belief is that 'all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial'.
Revelations, the last chapter, verses 18-19, is the only book that has a dire warning about putting in or taking out any of the content of " this prophecy". I have read a few versions of this chapter and found that it is the only one not tampered with.
What I am saying is that, it seems that any other book in the bible is up for grabs or change.........except for this Revelations. I think I have hit upon something. It is that there is no caveat to protect the rest of the bible books, no evidence that this warning is back dated to apply to Genesis onward.
That leaves me with so many questions about the bible and various translations. I suppose I could point this out to my elder friend, but it would give him a heart attack.
those who still attend meetings will be better placed to answer this question.
since the conti case - but likely some years before it became more widely known in ex-jw circles and beyond - there appear to have been no watchtower or awake news snippets on child sex abuse in the churches of christendom.
also, do rank and file still talk to householders about the churches of christendom's cover-ups of such abuse?.
Yes, they do point the finger at every other religion concerning child abuse. I had an experience recently with my own family trying to tell me how evil Catholics and other religions are for their cover ups. It got nasty for a bit as I pointed out the evidence of abuse in this religion. Basically, they say it is all lies. They rarely go searching for substantiation of facts. It's far too spooky for them to read about the cases against the society. I was yelled at and had some sort of nasty name flung at my retreating back.
..you had been away from the wt for a time.
i saw a quote tonight and it leapt off the page for me.. "now i know what it feels like to be part of a circle of friends, part of a group.
its a very different feeling than i have had before and it feels wonderful and right'.. spoken by a lady after being released of her heart "wall" that she had established for protection.. + comments please if you like.
Heaven.
Good points; all of them. I grew up with this dreadful feeling all of my life. This religion did nothing to make me content or able to enjoy a normal life. Imagine forty seven years of trying and trying to be ..........I don't even know what to call it anymore. I tried to be a JW and live the life set out by their rules. Only in my later years am I able to start disentangling my life, thoughts, feelings and what ever else was sucked out of me by this horrible religion, It's so late in the day for me to come to terms with this delusional religion, It has been incredibly hard to live with being condemned and believing I actually deserved it.
I hope to find some peace and soon. I don't want to obsess about the lies and self righteousness that has made me so angry and sad. I will do it. I know I will.
For now, I need to frequent sites that confirm that this is just another scam of beliefs and that I owe them nothing.
inspired by the three recent threads on david splane's new video declaring, among other things, that there was no faithful slave for 1900 years, and there may not have even been any genuine anointed ones during those years, i decided to make this post.. here are the three previous threads on this topic:.

This a portion of the newspaper article
Late last year the federal government set up a body called the Australian Charities and Not For Profits Commission (ACNC) to regulate charities with tax-exemptions. It can de-register charities. A treasury spokesman said the government could soon redefine charities and boost their requirement for 'public benefit.'
"At the moment groups like the Jehovah's Witnesess and Scientology are subsidised by the taxpayer," Senator Xenophon said. He said the French government's cultbusting agency Miviludes had been effective.
Victoria's current state inquiry into how churches handle child sex abuse has submissions from former Jehovah's Witnesses. One includes allegations of rape, sexual assault, blackmail and death threats. Others include allegations of paedophilia.
A spokesman for the church in Australia, Sydney solicitor Vincent Toole, dismissed the allegations and said shunning was a"myth."
Mr Aron, who has written two books on cults and has investigated them for thirty years, said the Jehovah's Witnesses were an outwardly benign group but they withheld information from potential recruits. Jehovah's Witnesses cannot celebrate Christmas, Easter or birthdays. They are not allowed to have blood transfusions, sing the natiuonal anthem or salute the national flag.
"They come to your door on a Sunday morning and you have a wonderful discussion about God but they never tell you that once entrenched in the religion you may never be able to say happy birthday to your children again."
They don't celebrate birthdays because they say there are no birthdays in the Bible, which Aron, an observant Jew, maintains is not true. "There's no Moomba in the Bible either," he says. "And no football. Does that mean we shouldn't do those things either?"
Jehovah's Witnesses believe they have God's messages to themselves, that all other religions are wrong, that the end of the world will come and only those in 'The Truth' will survive. They have predicted the end of the world five times. They also believe Satan has ruled the earth since 1914.
i did not write this piece.
i enjoyed the simple and understandable reasoning.
hope some of you enjoy it too.

lorenz reibling's replies to the reporter in argentina are in english.. lorenz reibling is intimately connected to the watchtower society and, according to some sources, is a jw himself.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3ssa-9yvii.
so who is lorenz reibling?
These men mentioned in this Australian newspaper, are making a fortune in pharmacy
driven alternatives to blood. They have influenced the amount of blood used in
hospitals, regardless of your; religious affiliation. I think the article above lends credence
to the "chilling" sort of feeling people get when they feel manouvred by some combined
group with too much influence
