I tried the link but found a site that was not what I expected. I typed it correctly, this was a very long link. Is there any other way to find this information without such a long hyper- text transfer protocol? -

Last Friday I was called by an elders wife. They are devoted to the "truth". And although I am not baptised but raised in this religion, they overlook that fact when it come to trusting me to take care of the dog and cat. They won't ask any other JW. They know I will be loving to the animals. They also think I'm crazy in a nice way.
That was the preamble to the point about "cart witnessing". Sitting there with the dog on my lap and hearing about this elders wife on the topic of cart witnessing she said..." It's really easy. I we did was sit there and catch up on our "gossip" have a coffee and watch people go by. It was a good break from other more stressful things".
I asked her if she had some decent conversations with the locals and she said no, they were busy getting about their day. "Anyway, the message is going to change soon. It will be a different message and afterwards, the preaching will stop. You know, like in Noah's day".
I asked her what exactly she meant. She said that Armageddon was around the corner and like in Noah's day he climbed into the Ark and Jehovah sealed the door.
"But, what about those who will never hear of this preaching work due to bans?" She said that it was possible the news would reach them some other way......People over here are going to where the need is greater.........But Portugal? I don't know what the situation is like over there.

Considering that at the last meeting I attended, which was a link up with Bethel in Sydney. They said no recordings, no photo's and....you may take notes if you wish but you cannot share them with anyone....I have no trouble believing that they would surf sites to monitor the thoughts expressed on sites like these and many others.
I thought it incredibly paranoid when sitting there watching pseudo body guard type men walking up and down the aisle constantly during the talk. I mean Really! It's not like they have state secrets to hide. I don't recognize this religion anymore. They were always fairly insane but much friendlier than they are now.

Anthony Morris explains how God gives Decrees to man! New video edit.
by Wasanelder Once ini took the most recent video on "obey" and edited it down to its core.
here tony explains that the decisions of the faithful slave are arrived at "collectively" but are not a "collection" of man made decisions.
it would be comical if it weren't so sad.. tony video.

Could the Independent Inquiry in England and Wales expose jw.org's child abuse failures? And how can we help?
by defender of truth inwith all the talk about the org's policies and failures regarding child sexual abuse being publically exposed in australia, i thought that it may be a good time to highlight this... i apologise if this has already been discussed, but on the 9th of july the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in england and wales was opened.
here is some information regarding it's aims.. "about the inquiry.
the inquiry offers an unprecedented opportunity to examine the extent to which institutions and organisations in england and wales have taken seriously their responsibility to protect children.. the inquiry will investigate a wide range of institutions including:.

Disfellowshipping by Jehovah’s Witnesses: A Brief History - Great article
by defender of truth indespite the governing bodys best efforts, members do leave the faith.
the governing body insists there is no valid reason for leaving the religion.
in fact, their brand new brochure, return to jehovah, lists only three reasons why someone might leave the religion: misplaced guilt, being mad at a witness, and being busy with life.. but of course, there are several valid reasons for walking away from the faith, all of which are much more damning than the sanitized reasons the watchtower society lists.

I know a young woman who was disfellowshipped for having a boyfriend outside of the WT parameters. She never looked better, lost weight, was a bit wild but still a lovely person. However, the lack of contact with her family and her lifetime friends was too much in the end. She told me she went back because she missed them. Interesting that she never once mentioned the pseudo-biblical reasons. No. It was loneliness that drove her back. And back onto anti-depressants; which loaded the weight back on, the ups and downs that came with the medication she had re-commenced.
She came to see me last year and was afraid that Armageddon was literally around the next corner, next week, next month! I reminded her that no one would know the day or the hour, that this was not the right approach. I had lived in fear of death whilst trying to grow up. She couldn't understand the disconnect with real life that such a style of religion could create........She's back full on and off to where the need is greater.

Blurring of genders
by Saltheart Foamfollower inas sometimes happens at elders meetings with the co, he has a letter from the branch to read out.
this rarely is made available later so any policies have to be acted on from memory.
this visit a letter was read about blurring of the genders and in particular brothers dressing in a metrosexual style - tight clothing was mentioned again.

Who's to say that a forum of people under the right banner of let's say......human rights could not attend...This is the point I am aiming at. I see many here who are willing to investigate and just do something...anything.
There is no barrier to forming an "entity" with it's genuine and well-founded concerns, coming out of such forum as this. If the WTBTS can attend on the basis of human rights, re religious freedom...What is there to stop a small or large number of people from attending as well.
There are some things that religion can no longer do, should not do...We have the same rights. We may not have the same watches and suits and some of us are women...god forbid. However, I for one am very interested in such matters as the religious freedoms that are gained versus a very very silent majority of people who are very hurt by impossible doctrines. I don't single out the WT on this. I make a broad sweep against any religion that has born in "children" who have little say in their lives.
I would insist on "ethics" in school as a course of study. I would try to maintain balance insofar as a child has the right to not be "indoctrinated" by an end of the world scenario. that breeds hopelessness.
I would not attempt to take away the right to a bible or the belief in God, but I would take away the right to force a child to attend meetings that breed a fear of the world of success of education....Surely there is some scope for a "group" who fought for human rights on this level. It is only fair is it not?
