  New Policy on Inactive Ones?

  this may have been discussed, but i just recently was told that a km this past year stated that inactive ones are now to be treated as if they are df'd.

  is this so?

  In my old hall, though irregular we never it shunned. I'm fact if we were still there I don't know if I would have found our the truth (the real truth) because they were all truly kind (it was a very small hall and they included us in everything, even if we had missed the meeting that day, helped with the kids, etc)

  In this hall though we are very irregular we get shunned, big time. When we tried answering we wouldn't get picked (not even our kids) even if our hands were the only ones up they would wait the extra seconda for someone better, like an elders wife. I should thank them though because it is one of the major factors in my awakening. Not one elder, pioneer, publisher, ANYONE Called or anything when major, major medical issues came up in our family. Really loving people. :(

  Ok this is a bit OT, but can someone answer me this:

  Don't JWs view homosexuality the same level of sin as everything else (I know in practice that they treat it way worse and 90% are just homophobic)?

  I still can't believe the talk given in Italy and I wish there was a way to share it with my husband without him knowing I got it from an "apostate" source. I don't have any contacts in Italy! Are JWs supposed to check if their clothes are designed or made by people who are having premarital sex or who smoke or do drugs? Or is it only clothes designed by "the homosexuals who love it when we wear tight pants" that we now I be careful of? Makes me livid to think about. Such hateful words.

  The Best Public Talk I Ever Heard (though the speaker was disfellowshipped thereafter)

  the best public talk i ever heard was one i heard in a jw kingdom hall.

  unfortunately, the hurriedly formed jc disfellowshipped him within a couple of weeks for not worshipping the octo(headed) gb.

  this happened two years back when i was his fellow-elder.

  Wow, I always used to wonder what they would do. Did they not try and stop him or get him off the stage or unplug the mike? I'm really surprised they let him give his whole talk!

  But, that would be awesome to see. I feel like so many people check out during the talks would most really notice?

  International Conventions and JW Mathtardation

  there is going to be an international convention in indianapolis at lucas oil stadium this summer.. the capacity of the stadium is 67,000 people in football configuration, with no one seated on the playing surface.. they read a letter stating that the stadium only will hold 38,000 people for the convention..

  wtf?!.

  maybe they do not want to have everybody that wants to avoid the detroit i.c.

  They might have a bunch of sections behind the stage curtained off and closed? I wouldn't think it would bring it down that much though? Or maybe it's for insurance purposes? Who knows.

  Baptisms only at regional ( district ) assemblies from 2014 / 15 service year?

  just a rumour but i guess it makes sense - i've a friend on a circuit committee ( he knows it's not "the truth" but for family & work reasons he stays in ) & he says that the wtbts have told them not to book a swimming pool for next years one day assemblies as the plan is to have only one baptism a year at the main regional ( what they used to call "district" ) convention.. with the drop off in baptisms so that sometimes there isn't anyone baptised or just a handful , i guess this is inevitable.

  i remember going to a baptism a few years ago - we had hired a municipal 25 metre swimming pool and only one person ( a rather confused and scared middle aged lady who hadn't been in a swimming pool since her youth ) was being baptised - it was all something of a farce with the "worldly" staff looking on very puzzled at such an elaborate & expensive ceremony for one person.

  ) also with both assemblies being one day with just short morning & afternoon sessions , i suppose it is sensible to ditch the baptism talk - it tends to be something of a snoozefest anyway at the end of the morning session.

  I know of three people off the top of my head who got declined baptism after going over the questions. One was denied THREE times and the elder who went over her FOURTH and last set admitted they only approved her because they were worried she wouldn't try again if they said no. Another was denied twice before he could get baptised and the third person once and she hasn't tried again as far as I know.

  I wonder if this is true. It would make sense so it could give the appearance of more getting baptised And create more of a buzz if it was a less frequent event.

  What is / was the first thing(s) you looked forward to doing once you were out for good?

  one of the things that keeps me going is thinking about the things my family and i will be able to do once we are all out, together, and free at last.

  (and we will be out together, i'm staying positive!).

  i soooo look forward to christmas.

  One of the things that keeps me going is thinking about the things my family and I will be able to do once we are all out, together, and free at last. (And we WILL be out together, I'm staying positive!)

  I soooo look forward to Christmas. Even as an all-in Witness I have always, ALWAYS loved Christmas. I am gonna celebrate Christmas. So. Friggin. Hard. I can picture my husband dressed up as Santa, having the kids come downstairs Christmas morning with all the awe and excitement and innocence and wonder that SHOULD accompany childhood. Having big family dinners with my non-JW family who I know will swoop in and help fill the void our JW family will leave.

  Celebrate the all the holidays with the kids. The only one I have neutral feelings about is Halloween. It's never really appealed to me.

  Vote! Although I have to admit, being raised with a "neutral stance" has made it hard for me to really care or follow a lot of political issues.

  Make normal, meaningful friendships. What does an unconditional friend really feel like?

  These are just a few of the superficial things I look forward to. What about you? What things did you do (if you're already out) or do you look forward to doing (if you're still in like me)?

  we asked this person if it could be aqbout the terminology change and they said that was already read last week...... we remember the last time they did this.

  got everyone all excited thinking the big "a" was coming and all it was about, was the literature would now be donated instead of charging for it.. .
