How corrupt do you think they are? If so, in what ways?
I've been compiling my own list and thoughts. It's not all "paradise" at the top is my thinking.

i was sitting at the meeting this week and the "apply yourself to the field ministry" part started.
it was the first part under, "the initial call".
they read from the "good news" brochure and ask a question on it.
Either someone on the inside gets a good laugh or maybe someone on the inside is trying to wake people up?
It's ironic that out of the 100's of paragraphs in that brochure, they pick the one that touches on child abuse?
Maybe they slid this in there to convince the R&F that it's only other religions with this problem and not JW's?

This could be big.
Thanks for the heads up on this.
At tonight's meeting, yeah?
Yes, this is the first "school" part.

I was sitting at the meeting this week and the "Apply Yourself to the Field Ministry" part started. It was the first part under, "The Initial Call". They read from the "Good News" brochure and ask a question on it. At the bottom of the paragraph (that was read out loud) is this little nugget:
"According to news reports, some religions are even involved in terrorism, genocide, war and child abuse. How this saddens sincere believers in God! - Read Matthew 24:3-5, 11, 12."
I stopped for a second as my mind went from numbness, to anger. The first thought that ran through my mind was, aren't the news reports on child abuse viewed as apostate driven lies? If I understand them correctly, when it's other man made religions, it's accurate. However, when the news reports are unfavorable in talking about their huge child abuse issue, its apostate driven lies?
Should JW's who feel they are "sincere believers in God!" be saddened by the WT's big child abuse issue? The hypocrisy, double standards and contradictions in this one sentence alone are huge!
Sorry WT but you can no longer play the card of being the only religion without child abuse.
just imagine the panic.disbelief.oh my god they were right.then you pee in your pants.what will l do?the plea for forgiveness.please let me through.l promise l''ll change.l didn;t mean what l said on that jw.com site.l was jokin.then you wake up it was only a dream.disbelief turns to relief.
but it could happen..
Ah, Armageddon. The thing JW's fall back when they can't prove a point.
When you get them into a corner when they can no longer prove a belief or teaching, they often fall back on you die-ing in Armageddon for not having faith.
But don't worry, they're not a doomsday cult. They say so on their jw.org site!
during the wt study yesterday i had a confused look on my face the whole meeting.
more of a, wtf, face.
one paragraph says, "therefore, the number of partakers does not accurately indicate the number of anointed ones left on earth.".
I foresee them not counting in the future.
Exactly. It's a two serving purpose. It does away with the issue of everyone raising an eyebrow as the numbers go up and I think ultimately it will allow them to keep the number literal as only the people at the very top will know what the actual number is.

I was more disturb that the WT mentioned that some who partake "may have mental or emotional problems " ... Insane.... so if you Read & follow Jesus command on John 6: 51..."if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, ..." & partake of the emblems & wine we are the ones with "mental & emotional problems?"
The whole article was awkward, paragraph 5 & 6 the WT is placing a gag order on partakers... don't talk about it, if your going to do it don't mention it to others & if the other see someone partaking don't ask them about it!!!! Wow, just Wow..... yeah I see them putting an asterisk by the yr book partakers #s that this # may not reflect accurately "true anointed christians" NEW LIGHT! ;)
Yea they stripped any "perks" that came from claiming you are anointed. The first move was removing them as the Faithful and Discreet Slave. After this article, there's nothing special left besides eating/drinking the wine and bread.
The top 7 only want the glory.

I caught that same point as well. Yes, I firmly believe they will stop printing the number. They have to. I suspect you wont see it in next years Yearbook. It is meaningless now at this point, and they have just admitted it. This will go quietly away, and no one will say a word about it.
You watch, the 144,000 number will be next. It will be announced as figurative, and not literal.
The light grows ever brighter!
You know what, if they stop printing the number of anointed, they can leave the 144,000 as literal. No one will have a clue how many are actually partaking. Hardly anyone knows of anointed now so they can keep it a literal number as long as they want now.
Holy crap, I think this was another layer of them bashing the number. Next step is to remove it from print which allows them to keep it literal with zero questions asked.. It's a win/win for them

Thanks thedepressed soul. Oops. I stand corrected! I had missed that as a quote and wrongly read it as something a Witness had said at the meeting in their own words.
No worries bro

The Watchtower study article did not say the number was inaccurate. The OP said Witnesses anssering during the Watchtower study saidbit was inaccurate.
"Therefore, the number of partakers does not accurately indicate the number of anointed ones left on earth" -
That's from their Watchtower! How is them not saying it's inaccurate? They are saying it is not accurate.
