"our way of worship will be altered by this wicked world" - What the heck does that even mean? So he's saying Satan's system of things is going to "alter" our worship?
I call BS, everything they teach is the exact opposite.
my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.
i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.
we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

i've been deeply following jw "culture" the last 2 years and i am getting the impression that the leadership is currently split in two different directions.
on one hand you get this sense of a happy, joyful and less strict religion and on the other hand there is still this strict, harsh religion of the past.
let me explain more.. there have been a lot of video's lately that show dancing in kingdom halls, bethel dancing to the "happy" song, jw.org downplaying their beliefs and making it sound like daisies.

I think it's more that the old guard has now died and so has their ideas. It was the rutherfords, Knores, and the franzes, who where the ones that were not going to change, and there weren't the external factors around to necessitate change e.g the internet.
Yes but Anthony Morris reminds me of those guys to the T.

On the other hand though, DF'ing is still strong, harsh counsel is still plentiful and old school standards are being focused and pushed. Higher education, DF'ing, tight pants, dress (telling do's and don'ts) etc...
I can't help but feel that the leadership is split, or the GB and the PR department have a different view of how the organization should be. Is the GB split? You can tell just by listening to Anthony Morris that he is definitely in favor of stricter more harsh rules (Taking it back to the 70's-80's) but where is this other side coming from? Is there other GB members that want a change? Are there Bethelites in higher positions that want a change? There are definitely two sides of the coin right now and it shows more then ever. Who is behind this more modern, relaxed side?
did i understand that right?
was that a claim rutherford made?.
i don't suppose anyone has that quote..
I sat at the Bethel graveyard at Wallkill looked at Knorr's tomb stone, Guy Peirce and so on and it proved to me these guys were dead just like everyone else. They weren't floating around directing anything, they did not go to heaven. Dead, nothing more nothing less.
I can't describe the moment but there was no doubt in my mind while I was there that they weren't dead like the rest of them at that site and all over the world.
uh, i'm speechless... is this the same religion against tight pants, colored socks, df etc...?.
i think i'm in two religions... .
this video also looks very familiar, did they steal something from the apostates?

remember this and other threads a few months back, on the subject that some kingdom halls in chile acquiesced to govt rules that every building should display the national flag on the day of celebration?.

many of us here and around the net, calling on our dub experiences cried "never would that happen!
These guys are the biggest CHERRY PICKERS ever! They pick and choose scriptures and apply them in whatever fits their agenda!
Those same scriptures are used all over and applied or not applied when they need it to!
I love the part about it being up to a "christian conscience" right after explaining in detail what would be acceptable and not acceptable. There is no such thing as a Christian conscience in JW land unless the conscience goes along exactly with what the borg wants.
If I tried to use those scriptures to justify some things I'd be pulled in the back room.
got a call from an elder in my previous congregation.. as tonight is meeting night, he enquired, "do you have anything on tonight"?.
i was sorely tempted to reply, "yes, a leotard made of spanx"!!!.
he would not have taken it well, so i just said 'no'!.
I think the JW grapevine is spreading 'gossip' of a certain couple who may be missing meetings - and perhaps even worse things!
I hate the "investigations" they do. Calling around, browsing FB and other social medias. It's completely nuts!
i was sitting at the meeting the other night and for the first time it hit, jw talks or magazines are never uplifting!
i rarely, if ever hear a talk or read a magazines and have it give nothing but praise to jehovahs servants or just praise jehovah and jesus throughout it.
they never just a read through the bible or just a bible story explained or told.
The watchtower lesson is sickening with how it starts off every study article with some scriptural reference or story-telling only to beat you over the head by paragraph 14. Raw manipulation.
Haha, you know, that actually crossed my mind 2 Sunday's ago during the blood Watchtower. In my mind I could not figure out how we ended up on the blood topic with how the Watchtower started. Full 360 on what started.
