lol anything negative in JW land, it must be the apostates. Everyone else's fault but their own.

Lett briefly addresses the child abuse issues in new JW.org video
by Richard_I ini just read about this on the ex-jw subreddit.
link to the video (10m06s).. skip to 7:35 where he says: "another way we can contribute to the oneness - rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from jehovah's organization.
as an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles.

Also for Catholics the news and media was right and it proved they were false religion but for JW it's false media and apostates?
Cherry picking at it's finest.

Now that he verbally admitted there are cases I guess we won't hear about how the Catholics had an issue and this must be the "truth" because JW had no cases.
Good luck on them saying that now, their own GB admitted it.

Child Abuse must be getting out of hand if they're addressing it...
by thedepressedsoul ini'm referring to the video that was uploaded where they finally mentioned the child abuse issue.
we all kinda guessed that if they ever addressed it they'd blame it on the media and apostates.
well, looks like we were spot on.

It must be getting a lot of intention inside, especially at Bethel if they needed to address it during morning worship. I have a feeling there will be a small paragraph in a WT soon. It means it has really gotten big if they are actually speaking out about it now. They usually remain silent and let negative press pass over.
I find it funny how they basically have it set up now that if anyone brings up the child abuse issue they are "apostate". That means no one will be talking about it out in service, at the hall or in general for fear of being shunned and labeled an apostate.
Damage control have been started.

The beginning of the end for shunning?
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe borg seem to prepare for changes by missing explanations out for a while then presenting a "new understanding" which doesn't contradict the most recent discussion.check out the most recent references to gog - no identification as satan.. in today's wt study, paragraph 15 concerning benefitting from the prodigal son stated "if we meet a person who has strayed from the congregation, will we offer loving and practical help to assist him to return?
" there is no footnote or other qualifier saying not to go to disfellowshipped ones (who are definitely the ones being talked about) which is still the official policy.
i know this isn't an ending to shunning, but it may signal the start of the preparation for a change.

They can never get rid of disfellowshipping. They have too many skeletons in their closet and too many crazy teachings to ever let that go. The 2nd they did no one would be "in line" or accept what they teach.
JW and Shunning go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other.

The Watchtower logically prefers everyone that knows TTATT to disfellowship themselves
by enigma1863 inevery active jw that stays in hiding their knowledge about ttatt is a hole in the watchtower wall.
i propose those who can stay in, should, especially if they have high positions.
how else can we know what they are up to?

I consider my type of publisher the most dangerous kind to the Org and the one they hate the most. They often refer to us as the "double life".
We can sit there, act like we're "spiritual" etc... but we don't follow the rules. We do as we please, watch what we want and slip stuff into conversations every now and then to make people think. Our conscience aren't bothered by all the stuff they spew out to try and make you feel bad and get in line.
Hence why you always hear that warning of living a double life, you're outside of their control but still on the inside if that makes sense.

Caleb & Sophia video Getting Big Coverage
by freemindfade inwow, i am kind of surprised the amount of attention this appalling video is getting from the media.
not surprised because it is appalling but that something that i grew up with was encapsulated in a cartoon and is exposing the witnesses publicly for mind control.. www.nydailynews.com/news/national/jehovah-witnesses-video-slammed-threats-kids-article-1.2116873.

Are we going to see a mass awakening?
by kairos inthe internet is the archive for civilization.. watchtower cannot hide it's history.. are we seeing the beginning of a mass exodus out of her?.

I don't think we'll see a mass awakening but I think as time goes on they will bleed out slowly. They will never be 100% gone, almost any organization never goes away 100%, there is always a foundation of members that support it.
I think as time goes on, more things come to light along with the internet we will see memberships dry up. They will start to get creative in how they count their members to show growth which I think they have already been doing with the 15 minutes and going by "peak" instead of what it actually is. They may hover around this number, slowly growing until they peak and have a steady decline where they eventually bottom out at a certain number that they will stay at.
One thing for sure is that the huge growth they once experienced will most likely never happen again.
Unless big changes come, only way I see this not happening.
