Well the videos equal 12 Minutes and 3 seconds if played one right after the other with zero time in between. The 5 minute introduction alone brings you to 17 Minutes and 3 seconds. If you are supposed to discuss after each video that is easily 45 seconds a video with only 1 comment. The concluding remarks they want you to give are about 30 seconds give or take.
This part is not possible in the time they allow. Did they send home all the Bethelites that can do math?
from reading crisis of a conscience and members here, i have gathered that df was originally a means to cleanse bethel and stop apostates from spreading their own thinking inside the organization.
.
when did it also branch over to sinners that were struggling with an issue that relapsed on multiple occasions?
Poopie, I get that and thank you for the explanation. From what I understand that was mainly put in place to stop members from spreading their own ideas and thinking. It seemed like shunning/df was mainly to stop apostates.
What made them also use shunning/df for fornication etc... Was it at the same time or did that branch over to "sins" at a later time?

how corrupt do you think they are?
if so, in what ways?
i've been compiling my own list and thoughts.

I've been compiling my own list and thoughts. It's not all "paradise" at the top is my thinking.
i was sitting at the meeting this week and the "apply yourself to the field ministry" part started.
it was the first part under, "the initial call".
they read from the "good news" brochure and ask a question on it.
Either someone on the inside gets a good laugh or maybe someone on the inside is trying to wake people up?
It's ironic that out of the 100's of paragraphs in that brochure, they pick the one that touches on child abuse?
Maybe they slid this in there to convince the R&F that it's only other religions with this problem and not JW's?

This could be big.
Thanks for the heads up on this.
At tonight's meeting, yeah?
Yes, this is the first "school" part.

I was sitting at the meeting this week and the "Apply Yourself to the Field Ministry" part started. It was the first part under, "The Initial Call". They read from the "Good News" brochure and ask a question on it. At the bottom of the paragraph (that was read out loud) is this little nugget:
"According to news reports, some religions are even involved in terrorism, genocide, war and child abuse. How this saddens sincere believers in God! - Read Matthew 24:3-5, 11, 12."
I stopped for a second as my mind went from numbness, to anger. The first thought that ran through my mind was, aren't the news reports on child abuse viewed as apostate driven lies? If I understand them correctly, when it's other man made religions, it's accurate. However, when the news reports are unfavorable in talking about their huge child abuse issue, its apostate driven lies?
Should JW's who feel they are "sincere believers in God!" be saddened by the WT's big child abuse issue? The hypocrisy, double standards and contradictions in this one sentence alone are huge!
Sorry WT but you can no longer play the card of being the only religion without child abuse.
just imagine the panic.disbelief.oh my god they were right.then you pee in your pants.what will l do?the plea for forgiveness.please let me through.l promise l''ll change.l didn;t mean what l said on that jw.com site.l was jokin.then you wake up it was only a dream.disbelief turns to relief.
but it could happen..
Ah, Armageddon. The thing JW's fall back when they can't prove a point.
When you get them into a corner when they can no longer prove a belief or teaching, they often fall back on you die-ing in Armageddon for not having faith.
But don't worry, they're not a doomsday cult. They say so on their jw.org site!
