I'm a father first!
by FatherFirst inhi guys, this is my first post; i thought i should introduce myself.
i was raised and spent most of my life a jw before i was disassociated, because i refused to stop seeing a non witness girl.
i must say their decision to cut me off from my family and friends although initially traumatic ended up being the biggest blessing in disguise of my life.

CO kept mispronouncing "debt"
by Red Piller inso, this happened a while ago - but i never posted on it.
during a co visit, he gave a talk relating to jesus ransom (i think) and the "debt" that was owed by sin, etc.... he kept saying "debt" and he kept pronouncing the "b".
so it sounded like "deb-t".

There were a few giggles in the audience, but most didn't even seem to notice! And the study conductor didn't even bother to correct him... -

Happens all the time! During a recent WT study I attended, the magazine reader kept mispronouncing "heirs" as "hairs"!!! Unbelievable!!! -

Send In The Clowns
by OneFingerSalute inas i sat through another mind numbing sermon this morning i could not help thinking that the speaker was a total clown.. lime green suit, white shirt, yellow tie, blue socks barely higher than his ankle, brown shoes, and an orange cast.
all that was missing was a big red rubber nose!
and of course everyone remarked what a wonderful talk he gave.

Shorter meetings for field service
by hoser inmarch kingdom ministry insert is about how the field service meetings will be shortened from 10 to 15 minutes down to 5 to 7 minutes.
they want the publishers to report more hours.
in my experience the problem isn't the length of the meeting for service but pioneers and publishers dogging it after the service arrangement.

As I know, bow ties are considered to be presentable attire, not something that you would be counselled for wearing... but from my observations, those who wear them always seem to be somewhat eccentric or peculiar...

What backlash could you expect by telling everyone you 'hate the Caleb cartoons'?

If field service was made optional for JW's, monthly reports are abolished, & the pioneer titles discontinued, I wonder how many would turn up... ;) -

jw.org cart days numbered?
by jookbeard inreading a report of an elder in a friends cong has been hiding and spying on the pioneers who seem to have a practise of dumping the cart and finding a local coffee shop, i've noticed that they do this in my local high street as well but this week they seemed to be all huddled around the cart, they've clearly been warned, a vast percentage of the time i see they seem to be more interested in fiddling with their mobile phones and gossiping, is just seems these carts are a means for the pioneers to turn in "easy time" i wonder what sort of figures show how much literature is being taken by the public?
i bet its very minimal.
naturally the gb would say they are a phenomenal success , we clearly know they are not.

Those who engage in cart / trolley witnessing in my area are always the same old people over & over again. Usually they are middle-aged sisters & sometimes the occasional brother. There is a glaring lack of young ones participating in this form of preaching. I don't blame them! =)
