  Donating to Charities

  so donating to charities has always been discouraged by the society, as it is a form of support for this "doomed" system.

  and of course, "the kingdom" is the only "real solution" to all the problems right?.

  but in the meantime, this view gives witnesses a "free pass" from the normal human desire to help out those less fortunate, or ones who were born in another part of the world where life is not as privileged as our own.

  JW's prioritize "spiritual" help rather than physical help. They reason that physical help provides temporary relief whereas "spiritual" help provides lasting relief! (yeah)

  I never bought this kind of reasoning even when I was still in. I reasoned that physical relief should be the main priority as without it, people could lose their lives! What's the use of "spiritual" help (if you would even call it help in the first place) if the person is dead???

  In conclusion, this statement sums it up nicely: People in need of physical help can't eat Bibles!!!

  when you went to an "assembly" did you wear a badge?

  it embarrassed me.

  when i was young my folks made me wear one and i opened it up and took the paper out making it look like it fell out.

  after my folks ask what happen i said i dont know.

  No Sports Cars Please!

  i read on a jw forum that jw's came in for disapproval if they drove either sports cars or 2-door cars.

  the reasoning was that a driver couldn't easily take fellow dubbies out preaching in such a vehicle.

  was that ever official policy or just local nonsense from a grumpy po?.

  (at the time with lower case w) isn't it about time now they changed name again?

  i remember when we used to demonstrate the suggested presentation of the propaganda from the 'kingdom ministry(r)'.. a pompus old sod of a brother(tm) once said that the presentations had been tested to ensure they worked.. i thought this was rubbish, myself........ .........any thoughts or insights, my friends?.

  some people are concerned i may have shared too much in my post and are worried this could get me in trouble.

  saying that, if the elders are searching on here, there is a chance that my letter could be found, and my comments used to incriminate me.

  What did being a JW teach you?

  these are some of the things the wbt$ 'taught' me:.

  dishonesty is fine if it's to trick people into joining the cult.. if your spouse stops believeing, the best thing you can do is break up the family.. the laws of the governing body overrule any other laws...or else!.

  my friends are conditional.. avoid loving people, they'll only let you down or get df'd.. unintelligent dumbos are better than intelligent ones if the dumbos are elders or above.. hate is better than love.. i am not good enough and god will probably enjoy killing me.. demons will appear in my room at night.. ignore practicallity if being practical or loving prevents the leaders getting money or praise.. god hates.

  Prayer:

  When something positive happens - God is blessing you. Praise God for helping you instead of a starving child in Africa!

  When nothing happens - you just need to bear with the problem patiently / your prayer is not according to God's will / you must be doing something wrong. Boo hoo...

  When shit happens - God is testing you. But not to worry, God is faithful & he would not test you beyond what you can bear (well in my case, apparently he did!)

  There... I fixed it! Makes nore sense now =)

  It seems that once we became brainwashed sheep, we lost our way. We stopped asking questions. We submitted to the bidding of the Watchtower. We stopped doing our true homework. This life isn't about meetings, field service, pioneering, bethel service, following absurd man-made rules & ideologies, abuse of power, disfellowshipping, shunning & conditional love, protecting sex abusers & pedophiles, covering up sexual abuse & victimising the victims instead of helping them, promoting false prophecies, looking forward to the time where billions of innocent people including children & babies supposedly die at "Armageddon", etc. It's about billions of humans being here at the same time to help each other. So I raise this challenge...
  Write about what you would change in the world to make it better for every living being.
  Extra Credit: Attempt to do so.
