Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

sowhatnow:
they basically added yet another level of stress, for everyone, now not only do you have to watch your step, you have to watch everyone elses THATS being a busy body.
I wouldn't consider that as stress at all. JW's LOVE being busybodies!
stuckinarut2:
If any normal person was to read those paragraphs, they would scream "cult alert" at the top of their voices!
I didn't scream, but I did a few facepalms. Does that count towards me being a normal person?

If the shoe fits......
by stuckinarut2 inhave we noticed how witnesses just love to joke about other faiths and their strange teachings?.
eg, faiths such as mormons, and others that have odd beliefs .... but, witnesses don't seem to be able to apply the same analytical or critical thinking to their own wacky beliefs!.
"haha...mormons believe joseph smith got gold tablets fro the angel moroni haha".

7 A conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped. For example, a sister named Anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother. The mother wanted to visit Anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family. Anne was deeply distressed by the plea and promised to reply by letter. Before writing, she reviewed Bible principles. (1 Cor. 5:11; 2 John 9-11) Anne wrote and kindly reminded her mother that she had cut herself off from the family by her wrongdoing and unrepentant attitude. “The only way you can relieve your pain is by returning to Jehovah,” Anne wrote. —Jas. 4:8.
Emotional blackmail at its best! It's also sickening to see how they transfer the entire blame to the victim when all along it is THEIR OWN DECISION to shun!12 Daniel, a brother in Mexico, needed to choose between being loyal to God and seeking his own selfish interests. He wanted to marry a girl who was not a believer. Says Daniel: “I continued writing to her even after I entered the pioneer service. But finally, I humbled myself and told an experienced elder that I was disturbed by a conflict of loyalties. He helped me to see that to be loyal to God, I needed to stop writing to her. After many prayers and tears, that is what I did. Soon my joy in the ministry increased.” Daniel later married a fine Christian sister and now serves as a circuit overseer.
And they lived happily ever after... if living in a cult can be considered as happinessHe had the opportunity to be free, but sadly let it go. Total waste of a life...
Also, what's up with the title boasting in the last paragraph?
14 Kindness can help you to deal with a conflict of loyalties. For example, you may have definite knowledge that a certain fellow believer is guilty of serious misconduct. You may feel loyal to him, especially if he is a close friend or a relative. But if you were to cover up the wrongdoing, you would be disloyal to God. Of course, your loyalty to Jehovah should come first. So like Nathan, be kind yet firm. Urge your friend or relative to seek the help of the elders. If he or she does not do so within a reasonable period of time, loyalty to God should move you to report the matter to the elders. In doing this, you are being loyal to Jehovah and kind to your friend or relative, for Christian elders will try to readjust such an individual with mildness. —Read Leviticus 5:1; Galatians 6:1.
Ironic that the not covering up of wrongdoing is usually applied to those who have engaged in conduct that can hardly be considered as wrongdoing while those who have committed ACTUAL SERIOUS wrongdoing (eg: child abusers) have their wrongdoing covered up! -

LOL Outlaw!
Jehovah is speeding up the work again?!
I reckon Jehovah is exceeding the speed limit, changing lanes without indicating and generally driving like a lunatic.
I think the celestial highway police should pull him over, breathalyse him and take points off of his licence.
Agreed, except for the "exceeding the speed limit" part. Jehovah is more likely to be the slow road-hogging bugger who is holding everybody up!

Here's something to think about - Wouldn't God actually build faith in people the best way posible by taking immediate action when people in desperate need ask him for help RATHER than NOT doing anything and then destroying people at Armageddon for not showing faith in him??? -

Today's text:
Saturday, April 30
The little one will become a thousand and the small one a mighty nation. I myself, Jehovah, will speed it up in its own time.—Isa. 60:22.
Worldwide, there are now well over 7,900,000 Witnesses, with millions more associating with them, especially during the annual observance of the Memorial. We do not boast in numbers, for it is ‘God who keeps making things grow.’ (1 Cor. 3:5-7) Nevertheless, it is evident that the great crowd is growing and becoming greater with each passing year. (Rev. 7:9) There has been remarkable growth in the number of God’s servants because Jehovah himself is backing his Witnesses. (Isa. 43:10-12) At one time, the anointed remnant were like “the little one,” but their number grew as other spiritual Israelites were brought into God’s organization. (Gal. 6:16) Because of Jehovah’s blessing over the years, the increase continues with the gathering of the great crowd. w145/15 4:7, 8At this point, I'm thinking to myself: WTF did I just read???
Let's recap some of the statements made:
- Nevertheless, it is evident that the great crowd is growing and becoming greater with each passing year.
- There has been remarkable growth in the number of God’s servants because Jehovah himself is backing his Witnesses.
- Because of Jehovah’s blessing over the years, the increase continues with the gathering of the great crowd.
Seriously???
Here are how things are: Only 7 million+ out of 7 BILLION+ people would be saved at Armageddon, and JW's are giving Jehovah credit for this pathetic achievement???
Good job, Jehovah. Keep up the good work!

When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.”—Jas. 1:13.
We may become impatient when a trialsome period seems to have no end. Suppose you are driving a car on a highway and get stuck in traffic. Trying to find another route, you might get lost or end up taking more time to reach your destination than you would had you patiently remained on course. Similarly, if you stick to the paths outlined in God’s Word, in time you will arrive at your destination. (Totally irrelevant illustration. In our technologically advanced era, I can simply use my GPS to find the fastest route & probably even avoid the jam in the first place!) Jehovah may hold off from intervening in our trials because he wants us to receive vital training. (How the @#?!% does NOT intervening when a child is being sexually abused help the child to receive "vital training"???) (1 Pet. 5:6-10) No, God does not cause trials. (If I see a child being sexually abused BUT I do NOTHING to help, doesn't that make me GUILTY also???) “Your adversary, the Devil,” is causing most adversities. (The one doing NOTHING to help is equally responsible) Yet, God can use a difficult situation to help us grow spiritually. (How does being sexually abused help a child to grow spiritually??? Also, according to this logic - the longer a child is being sexually abused, the more they would grow spiritually???) He sees our suffering, and “because he cares” for us, he will make sure that it will continue only for “a little while.” (Because he cares for the child, he will make sure that the child is being sexually abused only for "a little while". Does that make sense???) Do you appreciate Jehovah’s watchful care when you suffer trials, confident that he will provide a way out? (NO!!!) —2 Cor. 4:7-9. w14 4/15 5:15, 16 -

Watchtower myth: God’s will discerned through committees, not individual leaders
by Londo111 inbe it the governing body, or the a judicial committee of the local elder body, when a two-thirds majority vote is reached, it is viewed as god’s will, as the action of holy spirit, of jesus nudging the stars in his right hand.
[and if i’m not mistaken, the minority is encouraged to change their vote, so that is “unanimous”.
anthony morris alluded to this when he unsuccessfully tried to explain why the governing body is not dogmatic.

So when they "collectively" came up with doctrines that are now wrong, was that still evidence of Jesus and Jehovah's direction??!!?
Hit the nail on the head right there!!!
