So when they "collectively" came up with doctrines that are now wrong, was that still evidence of Jesus and Jehovah's direction??!!?
Hit the nail on the head right there!!!
be it the governing body, or the a judicial committee of the local elder body, when a two-thirds majority vote is reached, it is viewed as god’s will, as the action of holy spirit, of jesus nudging the stars in his right hand.
[and if i’m not mistaken, the minority is encouraged to change their vote, so that is “unanimous”.
anthony morris alluded to this when he unsuccessfully tried to explain why the governing body is not dogmatic.

a japanese sister who recently woke up revealed me that she became extremely suspicious about the organization after reading watchtower article .oct.15 2015page31.

It's very rare to hear any Japanese JW's waking up to TTATT. Almost all the Japanese bro's & sis's who I know are zealous die-hard JW's!

If JW's REALLY have the truth, then they would have NO REASON to be afraid about any "slanderous news" as THE TRUTH would be able to stand its ground & always prevail against any sort of falsehood!
So what do JW's have to be afraid of if they really have the truth? NOTHING! Their actions, however, speak for themselves...
i would like to get the opinion of those on this community.
does serving as an elder make one a bad family man.
with all the demands placed on those serving... how can one make time for family life?
Being an elder gave my father a superiority complex & made him an unpleasant person who was extremely hard to deal with!
When I was growing up, I needed not just a father - I needed him to be a friend who I could talk to, someone whom I could confide in without judging me. My elder father failed miserably to be that kind of friend. He was judgemental, always wanting to lecture & judge instead of listening, quick to criticize & slow to praise. As a result, I couldn't get along with him, we clashed often, & our relationship was strained. I didn't care about his being absent from the house often - I was happier whenever he was away!

yesterday my wife and i enjoyed one of our regular days out at edinburgh - movie, lunch, walk, meal etc.. in the late afternoon while mrs cofty went shopping i had an hour at the excellent museum of scotland and arranged to meet up outside the national gallery on princes street.
on my way back i saw the jw trolley was at the usual spot on the royal mile.
there was an older man and a young woman standing well back trying hard to look inconspicuous.
i'm 16 and it seems like most the people on this forum are adults.
i would think since most teenagers have tablets/smartphones there would be more on here but maybe not?
it would be nice to meet some other young people.
