Basic Bible and Religious Vocabulary the Watchtower Never Teaches
by CalebInFloroda inwhen i began formal study of religion and biblical analysis it was like peeling off layer after layer of dark matter, sticky and putrid that had stuck over my eyes and ears and mouth.
i learned that under the watchtower one only builds a widening gap between yourself and the world of biblical academia and scholars.
i used to think i knew a lot because i learned to quote a few scholars or lexicons as a witness.

The Organized To Accomplish Your Ministry book goes onto into it doesn't it?
That book is mandatory reading pre-baptism. But yes, the whole disfellowshipping thing is glossed over. You think with something so potentially devastating to a person's life as the d/f arrangement is they would make people sign a contract or something. Just to emphasize the seriousness of it.
If congregation "cleanness" is such a good thing why hide it?

fat pervert mark sewell later got 14 years and i hope he is enjoying every minute of it.. the courageous ladies who spoke on the programme were articulate, reasonable and made a tremendous impression.. the quote in the thread title made an impression on me, and i hope, on all listeners.. forget religious, theological, 'biblical' issues and cut to the basics.
a rape victim was asked to demonstrate - to demonstrate, ffs - to three unqualified (middle-aged at least, presumably) men just how far her legs were apart when she was raped.. i have rarely heard anything so outrageous, and i used to investigate rape and abuse in my profession.

If there are more "sick" women in the borg than men (and I'm not saying that there are.)
It may be because women are more oppressed in the borg than men are. At least men are considered useful, even if just for microphone duty. Women in the borg are suppressing more =more somatic illness.

JW ended a relationship with me
by V1922 inmy jw boyfriend just ended a year and a half relationship with me.
it came out the blue and i'm deeply hurt by this because we were so compatible.
he did it right before the big annual gathering he is presently attending.

by cofty inearlier this week i bumped into a couple of jws who i recognised from the cult cart.
a few months ago i had a long conversation with him one of them and found him to be quite friendly.
he is new to the area in the years since i left.. this time he was very defensive and said he wasn't allowed to talk to me.

This comment doesn't surprise me as JWs don't feel any kind of moral or ethical obligation to help mankind in general- not just kids.
JWs don't discriminate against kids they don't help anyone.
What do they provide for the community? Well lets examine what they do actually do for mankind.
Soup kitchens... ah no,
women'shelters? No, meetings might count , but to hell with them for the rest of the week.
blankets for the homeless maybe? No, couldn't even use the shit magazines as a blanket.
rehab centres for drug addicts ? No, haha not likely.
clean water for kids in africa ? No, let em read the bible when they get hungry or thirsty so sayeth the WT.
Protecting children from pedophiles? Hahaha ....oh that's a good one.

Daughter of Elder Reinstated Within Months!
by disillusioned 2 ina young sister in my husband's congregation who is the daughter of an elder has been reinstated in a matter of months.
whereas another sister in the same congregation has been disfellowshipped now for nearly two years!.
seems like it's who you know..
