  i was born into this religion.

  i was a jw for well over 30 years.

  i did much research before i had internet, i compared bibles and prayed deeply to help me to know if this was the truth.

  I believe much of the unexplained "illness" in the borg is due to people on a subconscious level percieving something is terribly wrong with their religion while not being consciously aware of what it is. This causes all manner of symptoms, both physical and psychological to manifest which the person puts down to "the stress of living in Satan's system."

  As far as the whole is the GB evil or deluded question, who can know.

  This I do know, they know exactly what they are doing...and always have known.

  The WT has no authority to decide who appears and who does not appear at a Royal Commission.

  Which must he quite a novel experience for them. The elders are GB cannon fodder just as much as the r&f are.

  JW ended a relationship with me

  it came out the blue and i'm deeply hurt by this because we were so compatible.

  he did it right before the big annual gathering he is presently attending.

  Any elder I have ever known couldn't even answer sincere questions at the door without getting flustered, let alone be even halfway prepared to answer questions the "superior authorities" choose to ask.

  This royal commission is going to make mincemeat out of the testimony of these guys.

  I had a friend who was a JW nurse (general ward) and she did the same thing this Dr guy did, she requested other nurses set up transfusions because of religious grounds. Another who was a theatre nurse who also did this.

  There was an elder/doctor in my congregation and he had veritable God-like status afforded him.
