i used to enjoy being able to distinguish different local accents, but for some reason i've got worse at it.

i was thinking about this today when i was listening to bette midler on the scottish radio.

i thought to myself i quite liked her accent and also that it reminded me of someone else.

Which accent is it where the g in the ing sound isn't pronounced eg thinkin, lookin, goin ?

it seems that hype is the only thing keeping jw.org alive and well these days (that and the money of suckers who continue to fall for it).. at meeting on monday, an elder announced "the faithful slave has seen it fit to change the format of our ministry in 2016, and more information will come".

i guess the desired reaction is to get jws preoccupied with what those changes could possibly be, and if it means that the end is nearer or some crap.. with that said, i've been suckered into wanting to know what these 'changes' will be.

does anyone know?

The format of the ministry huh....hmmm, maybe the witnessing will be conducted from the local coffee shop with tablets left open on the table playing JDubyer.borg videos while the group orders coffee and gossips.

No Soliciting signage and JW Policy

does anyone have a copy of the boe letter directing publishers to not go into apartment complexes and/or condominium complexes with no soliciting signs?

i ask because yesterday and buttheaded jw (that obviously had no idea who i am or my past) was knocking on doors in our condo complex.

he would have had to drive past a sign which clearly states "no solicitation or material distribution.".

Many witnesses ignore signs, and any direction given on them.

They will gleefully find reasons as to why the sign does not apply to them. That they are not there to do the sort of thing listed on the sign, that it doesn't apply to charities like them etc etc.

Totally maddening people.

when i was first introduced to the "truth", i was so distracted by the love and affection that the members were showing me that i was ready to convert into the religion without thinking twice.

i was conviced that jws were god's people (i still think some of them are).

i made it my goal to get baptized as i wanted to be part of the "only" religion that produce such good people.

the problem i have with all the redundant bethelites.

they were virtually getting free labour.

If Bethel wasn't so kitted out with every luxury known to man essentially like a luxury hotel then they wouldn't need all that staff anyway. Bethelites were always redundant as far as the actual preaching "work" goes.

I guess they will have an excuse for installing security cameras now. I mean, they wouldn't want someone stealing their new equipment now would they. Also perfect op for spying on the congregation during the meetings.

Are Magicians Spawns of Satan the Devil?

i was perusing the internet not long ago and came upon this series of videos by a guy calling himself xendrius.

it declares that many of today's best magicians are in league with the devil.

his claims are based on his observation that the tricks would be impossible to do unless the magicians had made unholy pacts with the devil.. so what's the take of the wtbts?

his greed moved him to steal money that had been donated for a sacred use.
