Oh God, sounds like high school, the hottest, it's so hot right now.
What next the coolest? Lol, there goes free thinking welcome to the consensus trance.
i have just enabled a new sort feature which should appear as a new tab called "rank" on any of the topic listing pages (by forum or subject within it).. there's also a "hottest" link in the main nav.. what does it do?.
well, think of it like active topics ... the latest things go to the top.
except instead of anyone being able to make something go straight to the top simply by posting on it, now the ranking is based on a combination of things including how many likes and dislikes they have received combined with when the posts were made.. what should happen is that likes for new posts will give them a boost as will replies but over time their effect will diminish.

wow, this is awesome.
this really shows the jw passiveness towards child sex abusers.
there needs to be more of this exposing this!.
Truthbomb these pedos and pedo-protectors while they are out witnessing - brilliant!
SHAME SHAME SHAME JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES!
let's be clear: people have the right to like or dislike what they want - that is why the option is there.
as long as they are not doing it in a malicious way to retaliate or game the system, there is no policing the votes.
if you get a down-vote, live with it.
Is it possible ex-jws are more addicted to positive feedback and sensitive to negative feedback than the average bear?
Being a JW can understandably leave you ultra sensitive to criticism because of our experiences with feeling judged and condemned from family, friends and even people who know nothing about us in the congregation, it can help to remember that. Don't worry about it, there is always something we can learn from others.
a thought struck me.
as young children we were known for often asking the question "but why?
" to anything and everything that we were told and presented with in life.
Because JWs are brain dead zombies who have given up their power of reason in exchange for loyalty to a bunch of Moses wannabes in NY.
JWs believe they can't think for themselves because the WT has told them they can't.
Because cults create a thinking free zone - very successfully.
gorby is as you know a long time fader.. visited the convention this weekend.. and concluded that samuel herds talk about hope was not so bad at all, it was well balanced.
made some good points.. knowing both sides of the medallion, have to admit he was humble with a focus on hope.. the saturday drama impressed me.
of course, there is a lot to say about the organization, this professional produced movie in a "true story" scenario, gave me the insight that hope is important for suffering people.
Yes, they're a cult, they produce effective cult propoganda (slow clap for WT).
in another thread there's a discussion about how the show must go on and meetings weren't even slowed down by the deaths or medical emergencies of ones in the audience.
for instance, one young brother's unbelieving father was murdered locally.
not long afterward he's assigned a part on an assembly about the resurrection or something.
Back in the day, the awful koolaid drinking day, I thought that if the brother was a bad example of the talk he was giving he did not have "freeness of speech" to give that talk. (God I was naive)
Jw elders, as are many religious people, boldfaced hypocritical experts at "preaching temperance from a barstool."
i met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.
they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.
should they ?.
Be the happiest apostate you can be.
david splane video.
morning worship.
david splane attempts to explain why the "slave" is not 1900 years old.. warning...video may cause drowsiness!.
Nah, he doesn't look a day over 1500.
so one of the many stupid articles deals with getting answers from the bible.. 1st question is about prayer.. ---would you say that he answers the prayers of .
some people.
what the bible says.
What the WT says.
"Jehovah (the borg) is near (watching you) to all (active baptized JWs)... who call on (worship) him (the GB) in
(the )truth."
well it took awhile.
i've downsized.
got rid of my bmw.
Gee, I really wish I could care.
