  JW Wife not listening

  hey guys, looking for some advice with what to do with my jw wife that is simply ignoring my wishes/demands.

  first a little back story, we have been married for 6 years and have 3 children together.

  she is a jw, and i am not (nor do i have any religious beliefs).

  JWs do not listen this makes it very hard to reason with them. Their religious devotion is a like form of narcissim and they are trained to choose their religion over everything else. The indoctrination they receive each and every week leaves them unbalanced in their decision making and words like rational and logical are simply not part of their vocabulary. Nor is consideration for anyone else's personal wishes or respect for decisions not consistent with their JW worldview and mindset. All this, in their mind, is perfectly justified and if you bring it to their attention you are the demanding one.

  Sucks I know but there you have it.

  I agree with Steve you're being too nice. Continue to state what your wishes are clearly and consistently and maybe it's time to tell her you have respected her religion and her beliefs but now it's time for that arrangement to be reciprocal and she needs to respect your wishes and your beliefs also.

  3 male passengers then get out and start stabbing / shooting people according to early reports.. but it could have been anyone for any reason, who knows, possibly jehovahs witnesses or amish.. maybe we'll never know the reason but i'm sure there will be people praying for those involved and hashtags.. thus solving the problem once and for all.. just "life in a big city" according to the muslim mayor of london, sadiq khan..

  my freedom came with a heavy cost.

  i couldn't stand the dishonesty so when my sister went out of town on a trip i told my parents that i no longer wanted to be a jw.

  when my sister got back and i told her she was so angry, said she really wanted to slap me, then she ran off sobbing, a few minutes later she deposited every gift i ever gave her in front of my door.. my entire family has turned against me.

  This is all par for the course when coming out to a JW that you no longer believe.

  She is upset not dying she will survive.

  You are not a wicked person just thinking for yourself and last time I checked that isn't a crime worthy of that type of hysterics.

  Stay strong keep it in perspective because lord knows nobody else will.

  Feeling Alone. Need Emotional Support.

  please chime in if you're one of my kindred spirit that happens to literally be trapped in due to strong family/friends ties, or plain fear of being abandoned in old age.. although leaving the org is my ultimate wish and desire, fear of the unknown, fear of how it would change my family dinamics, plain fear alone paralyzes me.

  how do you cope in this difficult situation?

  Ween yourself off. Start by mssing every other mid week meeting then reduce to once a month until you are not going to any. Then do the same thing with Sunday meetings. Spend the time you usually spent at meetings in doing things for you - IOW self-care.

  FS can be reduced in a similar way. Start by going to the group and say you have to go on RVs and you have an appointment after so you would prefer to go alone. Gradually reduce time spent but continue to put in a fake report of 2hrs or so to keep the secretary of your back. If anyone asks tell them you are fine and act as "normal" as possible during this time you are weening yourself off.

  Trust me, once you get a taste of your freedom your mind will start to clear more and more the fog will lift until you want freedom more than you fear change.

  i always felt bad for asking questions , did anyone else ?

  what question did you ask or want to ask but feel it was wrong ?

  mine was regarding the circuit assembly and the amount defecit anounced .. also 1975 i got a stern reply too when i was studying in the 90,s.

  48% Capacity at Kingdom Halls - A post on reddit

  there was a letter read this week, followed by a talk about all the changes that are coming in the next couple of months regarding merging congregations in the area (va/md/dc) - the letter said that the kh's in the area are only being filled to 48% capacity.

  this was music to my ears as i have noticed the decline in attendance in all the neighboring congregations.

  they will sell some kingdom halls and merge some congregations.

  While we have discussed this article before on here it still leaves me shaking my head at the epic mindfuckery of articles like this one.

  It also proves for me that the borg knows exactly what it's doing, they are not some benign "nice but misguided" delusional religion they are a cold calculating lying psychopathic organization.
