Need help understanding the Overlapping Generation teaching
by Jules Saturn inso this is a topic that seriously boggles my mind and please correct me if i'm wrong.
to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.
david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

Are the elders letters copyrighted? Because personally, I think the thing that would be pissing WT off the most about K&M is the reading out of the elder's letters. WT would absolutely hate that, it would be a matter of principle to them even though there's usually not that much damning info in elders letters that would be of interest to anyone other than ex-jws. They would hate their privacy protocols breached in such a way.
I don't know I 'm just guessing.
Agree with konceptual bout the double standards of WT.

"exjws" and money making Ponzi schemes.
by Thisismein1972 inok i want to pose a question to those who care to discuss this.. imagine a scenario.
you hear of a exjw writing a book, however, before writing this book this exjw is requesting money to publish said book.
you go along with it and help to get this book out to the public as you think that it will be beneficial.

Lloyd does have some very devout "he can walk on water, we're not worthy" followers who act as a kind of goon squad to defend and follow wherever he goes.
I just always took that as the unfortunate ex-jw propensity towards black and white thinking. People are either all good and you or anyone else cannot question them or criticize them or all bad and you must dislike and shun and them.
Lloyd, like all of us has his good points his strengths and his not-so-good points his weaknesses. He puts his trousers on one leg at a time.
But such is the way of social media. Sigh.

by UnshackleTheChains ini am quite interested in something mike and kim said in their video when talking about why their you tube videos are being taken down.
in their video below, at around 35 seconds.
mike say's that he has being trying to tell people that the boys in pennsylvania are the real power behind watchtower - not the governing body?.

I asumed Mike was referring to the WBTS of Pennsylvania.
They gotta make an example of someone and Mike &Kim would be easy targets. This case is a warning shot across the bough to all ex-jw you tubers, I reckon.

Going To The Meetings Because You Were Obligated To
by minimus indo you remember going to the meetings because you had to??
there were times when you were sick or definitely under the weather or perhaps you were exhausted physically and or mentally, and you were still required to go to the meetings!
even during inclement weather you had to go.

Oh yes, the meetings were what I moved everything else around for, imagining I was gaining points in heaven for it lol.
I was a very conscientious witness, I tried hard to be supportive of any arrangement but my good record counted for nothing in the end once my attendance dropped off my worthiness went with it and my "treasure" in heaven turned out to be worthless. Kicked to the curb, treasure not redeemable, all for the ghastly sin of fading.
I use to joke hyperbolically that if Jack the ripper turned up at the KH he would have been treated better than I simply because he wasn't baptized so not accountable, but I was.
Never again.

Does Morality Exist?
by Fisherman insome people believe that stealing, lying and killing, is not moral.
some people don't.. does morality exist?
if so, prove it..

Morality cannot be applied to animals or nature. Animals have instincts and nature is indifferent, neither are "evil" in the way humans use the word.
To most humans the concept of morality is relative and complex depending on a hell of a lot of things like education religiousity and upbringing etc etc. Individual morality is plastic, when our circumstances change we see a different view or we have a new experience we can alter our judgement of what is and isn't moral.
There is different Laws from different places based on general principles of what most in that area would consider right and wrong.

Out of the world, into the Truth
by apalro infor some background - i studied on & off as a child with a jehovah's witness who has been patiently working on lots of our family for more than a decade and never gave up on any of us.
as a middle-schooler and a highschooler, my love for jehovah and any association with my childhoood bible teacher... faded.
disappeared.

Wow, just don't know what to say to that amazing story as you seem to have said it all.
I'd say good luck but I know JWs don't use the expression so I'll just say may the "blessings" continue.

JW/Mormon slogan parallel
by neat blue dog injust came across a meme of the leader of the mormon church (lds) saying "believe, obey and endure".
it just reminded me of the jw mantra "listen, obey and be blessed".
😂.

The red pilled person sees,
Religion : Same shit different assholes. End of.
A blue pilled person sees differently.
In the future big pharma will probably turn religion into a drug.
An advert for a religion drug would probably go something like this in a creepy female cg voice.
Studies have shown that people everywhere want to believe and belong to something greater than themselves. Something that soothes any anxiety or first world guilt about all the suffering in the world. Something that can ease a troubled conscience when you make those embarrassing mistakes. Something that can dispell an existential crisis and give you a sense of community.
Sounds great, right? Well that something is here and on sale all around you and that something is a little blue pill called Religion. Join us in the religion club today.
Religion : You complete me.

Phase one: I started missing every other night meeting then went once a month for while then stopped all night meetings. Phase two was the same process with sunday meetings and FS groups until the only thing I was doing was putting in a fake report for a few months then "forgot" for a couple until the secretary stopped asking.
