GB would do just fine. DOs are already gone. COs are on borrowed time and all the others are dispensable, but Warwicke and JWdotborg and borgbroadcasting are here to stay and they will need staff.

Your donations at work: WT Farms “inspirational” corn maze
by betterdaze in“best life ever” is displayed at watchtower farms, near pine bush.
the jehovah’s witnesses' maze is a work of devotional art, and not intended for exploration like the pagan ones made for hudson valley tourists every halloween.

I think that's a penis on the far right of the maze lol (again, joke).

This week's "Give Us Your Money" meeting item.
by freddo inif you went to it, (or go later this week) how was it handled?
just the video or some commentary too?.
i have heard of a few negative comments from some that attended - one jw even openly said to me "not very encouraging, all they go on about is money lately" and another (a serving elder, no less) said "someone's got to pay for all those lawsuits".

Biggest impact on humans
by menrov indo not know where to post this but i like to hear your views on what you think had the biggest impact on humans.
for me, 2 things:.
music: every human listens one way or another to music and will likely have some sort of emotion.

I believe music and art can have an effect on human consciousness both positive and negative and no-one knows this better than religion.
Religion, monarchies and regimes have used both. Outlawing certain types of music and art because of the way it can affect people either to incite to revolt or inspire obedience. Religion in paricular created it's own art and music whilst demonizing the secular to make sure people stayed well and truly subdued, obedient, and "asleep."
The lyrics to songs combined with music can open the mind, generate memories, influence mood and decisions and they say listening to classical composers like Mozart and others can actually make you smarter at maths because of the mathematical structure of classical music.
Art before TV, radio, internet etc was very symbolic and whole stories or protests or secrets could be revealed in a painting. At various times in history when oil painting was becoming popular certain colours like blue which was very expensive and dificult to produce could only be used for the elite and royalty or for religious paintings etc. It was considered too good for common artists common people because who doesn't love blue.

Went to a sunday meeting Waterbury, Connecticut, yawnfest x100
by Brokeback Watchtower inwell went on a vacation cross country for 10 days to see relatives, and so decided to drop in on my old kingdom hall to get a look at some old friends i haven't seen in more the 27 years.. came in around 1:15 pm middle of the public talk wearing tight fitting jeans and an old sweat shirt, and sat down in front of person i served with as an elder.
the talks was so boring i can't remember a word of it, i can only recall that it was very disjointed with tremendous leaps in logic, so that my mind could not and would not follow the speaker.
watchtower study was a complete brain shrinking repeat of putting on the new personality or something, with the conductor fishing for baby food comments where none of the 3 or 4 young ones gave any comments only the hard core braindead were answering.

Wow, brave move, must have seemed weird after all this time.
Nothing like visiting a JW meeting to remind yourself of how god-awful the whole thing is.

Just Bumped Into My JW Sister And Brother In Town
by pale.emperor inso im walking through town today on my lunchbreak and spot the unmistakable walk of my younger brother.
this is the one who left watchtower... well it turns out he's returned to the vomit after stupidly turning up to the 2017 convention and a few elders filling his head with seeing our dead dad in paradise and to "wait on jehovah".. a few meters behind him was my sister.
she spotted me first, then hurried up her step to my brother.

If it makes you feel any better if a convicted murderer or bank robber accepted a bible study and turned up at the meeting they would be all over that!
Oh we're all sooooo bad, as Austin Powers would say beehave!

I'm sure some good person will spill the beans on their special school before too long.
My guess would be "Elders: why they should be loved, obeyed, confessed to and treated special."

Welcome.
Yeah, I enjoyed writing the tiny plays for the TMS also, and I wasn't too shabby at it even if I do say so myself.
Heaven forbid a women talk to the congregation directly lol!
Enjoy your time here.
