Biblical incidents that bothered me.
by EverApostate ini wanted to discuss the (supposed) biblical events that disturbed me a lot when i was a jw.
these incidents were just read and discussed in the kingdom hall as if these are normal and justified, which clearly weren't.
perhaps this led to my awakening.

Can some one please explain Deuteronomy 23:12-13
by Jayk inat a bible study when i was younger i read this scripture out loud and totally did with a straight face realising what they were talking about halfway through it.
i think i start reading in verse 12 "when evening falls, he should wash with water, and then he may return to the camp at sunset.+ 12 a private place* should be designated for use outside the camp, and there is where you should go.
13 a peg should be part of your equipment.

WT liked to use this as evidence that his people had superior/divine knowledge of things like sanitation, hygiene etc long before medical science caught up. LOL.

Is a person still under God's protection if that person willfully visits an "apostate" website when God has told them in the bible stop touching "the unclean thing" for eg?

"We would never (insert weasel word here) deliberately distort a quotation..."
This statement alone is lying distortion.

...and so the shunning begins
by Phoebe ini am now officially 'inactive' so am no longer chased by an elder a for a report.
the congregation i belonged to never had much time for me anyway, i said once i could drop down dead in the k.hall and no one would notice.
so i never expected anyone to be particularly bothered that i wasn't there and they aren't.

Yes, unfortunately freedom from this cult comes at a price.
I see it like this people can only give you what they have to give and people under WT's "spell" just don't have it. They don't know the real meaning of friendship, love, kindness, compassion because WT has redefined those things for them to mean something unatural.

They could change this rule in a heartbeat if they wanted to. All it would take to back up the change is slap a scripture on that thing and hey frickin presto - new light.
And yet they fefuse. Anyone would think they're enjoying the free publicity or something.

True or False did the Watchtower Corporation create false doctrines intentionally to enhance the proliferation of their own publications ?
by Finkelstein inmuch as been revealed over the years to the date setting doctrines made by the wts.
such as ( 1874, 1914, 1925 , 1975 this generation, the last days, the end times etc.... which were not created by other christian based faiths.. as to critically examine why might reveal a hidden agenda to all these date setting proclamations.. the point in question is did the wts and its leaders intentionally manipulate or exploit the preaching of the gospel to enhance the proliferation of their own printed publications ?.
i would say convincingly yes, no question.

It's called "bait and switch" Fink - false advertising at best, lying by omission duplicitous recruitment practises at worst. It's what cults do.
