All I can say is three cheers for cog diss.
If it wasn't for those extremely uncomfortable feelings that eventually became unbearably uncomfortable feelings I would never have woken up.

video: jw's dance at the jakarta, indonesia special convention.
things have really changed over there in jw land...... holding up phones like lighters now?.
Can't access it. Can you explain what's going on?
i ask this question out of interest, because as a jehovahs witness for some 26 years, i have always felt that there is an 'all work, no play' culture within the organisation.
the organisation doesn't promote social gatherings.
i could count on one hand each year how many get togethers we have had.
I actually made quite an effort to throw pot-luck or pizza evenings together but aĺl my "friends" turned out to be fake when my perfect attendance record became sporadic. Fake friends =fake social life.
JWs tend to invite you when you're "of their sort" and drop you as soon as your congregation social/organizational status drops off.
There is an episode of Black Mirror set in a not too distant future world where your whole is dictated by social points you accumulate or lose and it reminded me of JWs.
It's just a meme fgs
hi all,i have been studying with the witnesses for more than 6 months and regularly attend both midweek & weekend meetings, and i am nearly at the end of the "bible teach" book.
my boss is adamant i attend team christmas functions.
she knows about my studying and potential baptism next year, and has suggested that i attend and just not participate in activities like kris kringle.
Rule hail is riding their pet panda back to fantasy witnessworld.

Well that was fun.

interesting development in russia... according to this article on youtube, it appears that children that are subjected to being involved in banned social or religious groups can be removed from their parents..
The ball is in the court of the parents. Anybody who gets their kids to "witness" in a banned country is an idiot.
I'm sure if any kids do get "taken away" we'll hear about it on jwborg.

Why did you come here for advice?
would he be disfelowshipped for talking to df persons?.
Not to mention the chick with the luxury oil, foot and hair fetish. DFing offense right there!
Can you imagine the JC.
"Now Jesus did she touch your whole foot? What about the piggies did she touch all five? Was the oil warm? Was her hair long and luxurious? Did you encourage her? Did you enjoy it?
here in australia, during the service meeting this week, the local needs part was taken up to quickly discuss a letter from the organization stating that there will no longer be a annual meeting part to discuss or remind the congregations about their blood cards.. i found this quite odd.. its not like that there is a shortage of meeting time to discuss this issue, as the society has recently been hijacking more and more local needs parts for its own messages.
and for a supposedly important doctrine, you would think that it should be mentioned more often rather than less, to keep everyone in line.. could this be a beginning of the movement away from the blood doctrine, through the process of gradualism?.
no-zombie .
I doubt the doctrine will be dropped they just won't have a formal dedicated meeting part about it anymore. Makes sense really considering the litigous climate they now find themselves in.
