When Will Jehovah`s Witnesses Appoint A Woman As A Governing Body Member.? It`s Long Overdue !

jehovah himself gives the saying "the women telling the good news are a large army" psalms 68 : 11 coupled with the fact that a good portion of women partake of the emblems and wine at the annual memorial celebration.. identifying themselves as part of the 144000 that are taken from the earth to rule with christ jesus in the heavens.. isn`t it about time they were recognized for their contributions and given the fact that gods word the bible clearly states that 144,000 of anointed are to be taken from the earth which many women are a large part of.?.

revelation ch.14 :4 could be argued that they are not lesbians { "these are the ones who do not defile themselves with women ,in fact they are virgins, etc,etc.}.

i wonder just how many men who claim to be of the anointed have not defiled themselves with women and are virgins.?.

To be honest it is the unreasoning blind devotion of too many women that have kept this cult going. If the "large army" stopped expecting men to tell them what to do and started asking serious questions, putting their children and grandchildren first and walking away this cult would be in real trouble.

we are “ born sick and commanded to be well.” under threat of death- both of my parents were abused both physically and emotionally, my wife was what it sounds like verbally abused - the strange part is they don’t see that they are attached to a very abusive religion.

Chronically emotionally abused people will not see the abuse and identify with the abuser and defend them. JWs are lulled into a false sense of security because WT uses words of "love" while being cold, demanding and controlling. The mind has trouble processing that kind of contradiction and will shut down.

when in conversion, you sometimes get carried away and the talk becomes all about you.. then, you remember you're in a conversation, say you're sorry, and allow the other person to talk.

she goes on about what's happening in her life, you listen and ask some questions.

she tells you more and then shifts the dialogue back to you.

It's funny you mention the elderly CoCo it reminds me of a quote from nineteen eighty-four when "Winston" is trying to have a conversation with an old man and becomes frustrated with the man's inability to provide any useful info.

" The old man's memory was nothing but a rubbish heap of details. One could question him all day without getting any real information."

"Winston" goes on to note of the people in general:

"They remember a million useless things, a quarrel with a workmate, a hunt for lost bicycle pump, the expression on a long-dead sisters face, the swirls of dust on a windy morning seventy years ago: but all relevant facts were outside the range of their vision. They were like the ant, which can see small objects but not large ones." End quote.

I call it "big picture" blindness.

Snake In My Fridge

i just now went to get meat from my fridge to cook, took the meat out & shut the door as i shut the door i thought i saw a piece of rope in the six pack i had just opened & had removed 2 cans, already drunk 1.. open the door again & there i saw what i thought was a piece of rope, but i look a bit closer ...... shit it's a friggin snake, bugger i had only just taken two cans out wtf.. .

Very interesting info Terry thanks. I see the Cathy Newman interview style as a symptom rather than the disease. She's "slogan chanter" shallow understanding of the issues and just regurgitates popular "slogans" as a form of denouncement to humiliate. And anyone with a more balanced considered viewpoint is the enemy. Objectivity is non existent in the world of the slogan chanter.

It depends how well you know the other person. Is the one-sidedness actually just social awkwardness because of unfamiliarity and not wanting to appear too "forward"? Or is it the person's baseline way of speaking? If after getting to know someone and finding out it is their baseline I tend to limit association with them as it's too draining, but I will try to let the person know what they're doing first as there could be a chance it's just serial thoughtlessness on their part. If they "get it" great if they don't I will just let nature take it's course as people who are like this usually don't like having their conversation style pointed out to them and the relationship dries up all on it's own.

I do think the internet has changed and is changing the way people communicate online and in person. I also found most if not all JWs are like this, you could not have a to and fro conversation with them. The conversation style of JWs was to talk about or talk at but not talk to. While they talked about other people behind their backs they somehow considered it rude to talk face to face with the person about the very things that they talked behind their backs about even if the person themselves brought it up. It was weird. I'm still trying to figure out how to communicate after leaving the borg.
