Yep a lovely quiet unassuming brother topped himself.
They refused the funeral in the hall - of course they did! Blamed him for being so selfish then carried on like nothing happened. Heartless bastards!

Nope don't know where posters "disappear" to, but, now you mention it where is that masked man?
Hopefully he has a life, but if you're reading this wifi hope you're ok your work here is appreciated.
ttdtt- since ug.
Hmmm...Maybe I should start a thread with just "ug?" and see how many people respond.
many of us here have been "outed" as ones who no longer believe that this is "the truth".. many didn't have the chance to do it in our own way, and in our own time, but rather someone "found out about our apostasy" and "reported" it to the spiritual police (elders).
would you like to share your stories?.
In true JW style I'm sure I've been "outed" as apostate via the gossip mill to everyone but me.
I've never beed D-Effed never D-Assed myself never confessed to anything, never done anything or been witnessed doing anything that could be used against me, no one has ever asked to speak to me and yet...
They treat me like I'm apostate. I'm a "do not call" now. I'm sure there are plenty of stories going round, I just couldn't tell you what any of them are.
JWs are very very weird people.
this came up recently with my dyed-in-the-wool jw pioneer mother, who swears up and down that there are no scriptural instances of this happening.
i seem to remember a couple passages, but can't remember where they were..
FYI for RM - JWs are not taught they're indoctrinated. They're not taught how to think they're told what to think.

RM - Maybe you should tell all this to your soon to be niece in law, tell her how you really feel she probably needs to hear it.
I do know JWs are insufferably arrogant and have a superiority complex when it comes to their bible "knowledge" which is very superficial and skewed. They are indoctrinated from infancy that they are in fact God's chosen people after he rejected the natural jews. They're indoctinated to believe they're special and are the only ones who can interpret the bible correctly. They believe they are better than all other religions and believe them to be part of Babylon the great marked for destruction. They look down on "worldly people."
I could go on but I'm sure you will get to know all this in time. It won't be easy for you if you want to maintain a relationship with your nephew once he is married to her. The cult she is associated with is... frankly, quite horrible.
Good luck with that.
*thanks to bubba on reddit for the heads up this uplifting children's activity.
what is the purpose of this activity?
what is the message?
Ye olde DNA test.
SIR, STEP AWAY FROM THE CHILD. NOW!
just watched this movie last night.. the premise of the title and film centers around the mother of young girl, who was raped, murdered, and set on fire by an unknown killer.
convinced that the local police could be doing more, she erects billboards outside of town, calling into question the efforts of the town's beloved chief of police.
this does not sit well with the other townspeople, and soon, the town priest comes to visit and admonish her.and after hearing him tell her if she came to church more regularly, she would be able to find the peace and resolution she needs over her daughter's death, she delivers this speech to him:.
Oh boy. Absolutely nailed the point on group culpability. Love it, thanks for sharing Cap.
