  Russian gunman raised in JW family

  the link bellow is sort of ok. i could not find a decent article in english language about this, but russian media is exploding.

  2 days ago a teenager killed 19 people and injured dozens and committed suicide.

  he was raised in a jw family.

  Can't comment on the case but re mental health issues I remember when I was attending meetings a guy gave a talk and highlighted that some governments (of course he didn't say what governments mind) had deemed JW teachings as being detrimental to mental health and caused depression. He and the audience scoffed quite predictably but at the time I remember thinking it was true!

  There were definitely some people who could not handle being a JW psychologically or emotionally, I had witnessed it myself. Emotionally/psychologically fragile people tipped over the edge by the litany of unreachababe congregation expectations, gossip and the general small minded ignorance of disability and or mental health issues by the elders only compounded the problem.

  These people all left and at the time I thought good! Leaving, walking away was the most sensible thing they could do!

  A question for you women; what was it really like for you being in the Org?

  hi there folks.. i took a bit of time out from the forum, however i'm back again.. what was it really like for you, your experiences good or bad, etc, in the org?.

  if you were granted a listening ear by the gb, what changes would you like to see implemented?.

  Totally strips you of any sense of self and your only purpose is to be "quiet and mild" while you "support arrangements."

  I'd say the only difference with a male is he can "reach out" if he qualifies iow jumps through hoops for the BOE, but, that in itself is an illusion of power and control as men too are subject to the same rules and following direction to become good little soldiers for WT.

  Sucks all round for men women and children but in different ways.

  would love to read this book one day and give it to my mum and brother who are both in the organisation.. so many people i see on videos claim that this book was the nail in the coffin.

  but do you know anyone where it had no effect on them?.

  so a friend today asked me what his deal is and i honestly don't know.

  i saw someone post about his accusations that the doj is investigating watchtower and people seemed down on the guy, as well has johnny the bethelite or whatever his name is that claims to leak stuff.

  i don't know rick fearon, don't watch his show, but his site just seems a little crazy, and he seems to get into occult conspiracies and the jws, which never lends credibility.. so for those of you who have been around a while, what's the deal?

  Aww, I miss Eric JWstruggle too he is such a great interviewer he would have been a much better choice for Leah Remini's program I think.

  I alo think six screens and RF serves a purpose for many.

  JW detained in Putin's Russia ... accused of extremism

  from bbc news "five jw's from the kirov region detained with about $ 7,500 accused of funding and organizing meetings....they found literature...and two hand granades and a landmine".

  the russians are such idiots planting evidence....and quarrelling with the neutral and sheepish jw land...and of course inflamating their persecution complex.

  Haven't watched/listened to very much of RF at all. I did visit there when first waking up but being embarrassingly green when it came to websites, forums and social media I found the site confusing to navigate so went elsewhere. I'd have to see and hear more for my self before I formed an opionion of my own about him.

  Suffice to say different strokes for different folks and all that but I get the feeling he appeals to maybe an older gen of JWs.

  My friends son just got disfellowshipped ?

  one of my very few jw friend rings ( he knows i’m an apostate ) and has chat about life, then he said i would be sad to here that his son has been df , my response was it’s the best news i’ve heard all day.

  his family are first generation jw of about 30 years in org.

  but the scales are falling as we speak, i use my most genuine persuasive arguments over months, his wife loved coconscience.

  Yes, news of a disfellowshipping is good news to me too. I'm not a fan of tiptoeing around someone's Jehovah delusion as it's exasperating and exhausting and only seems to enablle their addiction not wean them off it.

  one of their mothers burst into the jehovah's witness church in swansea and publicly accused him of being a paedophile only to receive a letter from solicitors warning her not to harass.

  judge geraint walters...described collins as a "devious, arrogant and self-righteous man" who had lived behind veil of respectability partly through his contact with the jehovah's witness church.
