I was never comfortable with the fact that you had to become hard as nails to survive in the congregation. The dog eat dog, survival of the fittest mentality worked against true christianity in my book. In the end I had to make a decision do I want to be JW or do I want a functioning conscience. The answer became clear.

by sparrowdown ini think there has always been your average garden variety pioneer couples and mr and mrs cobe and back in the day these tended to be a little bit dorky the wife -homely, the husband -fatherly, they shopped at thrift stores and lived in someone elses garage.
but as competition for a slice of the power pie has ramped up over the years what we have now seems to be a whole new ball game.

our crime mainly being we were not local and the local "hood" did not like outsiders.
the circut o/seer (also not local) was very familiar with mafia style antics of the local body and its problems but was at a loss as to what if anything could be done about it for fear he too may end up in the river with cement shoes (metaphorically of course).. the guy while being sympathetic to our plight basically said "be warm and well fed"and set off to a new assignment interstate.. well he rang up out of the blue to see "how we got on" and to "find out if any action was taken by the branch to investigate ".

DUH of course no action was taken we just had to suck it up and "leave it in Jehovahs hands"and "Jehovah" apparently saw fit to leave us swinging in the breeze. It hurt like hell at the time still does actually. So Bro 'keep warm and well fed" your phone call is JUST A TAD TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!
Where do these people get off?

I think my D.O. Is a closet apostate. References Stanford Prison Study and hints he sometimes disagrees with the Branch

1. zero yes 0 references to the fds in any of his talks.. 2.he also told elders that the brothers worship god and not them.so therefore the elders have no authority to order the friends around.. 3. he also talked about the stanford prison study and said that people who receive authority over others often abuse it.
4. he mentioned that when he disagrees with the branch (aka the fds) he's learned to just do what they say.

Yes blood and organ donation are also classic examples of when you turn it around the opposite couldn't possibly be logical.
ie;" I will accept your blood fractions or even a kidney if you have one to spare but you aint gettin mine so suck it"

advocated was for ALL religion or just JW'S?
Well it was like a sucker punch to the mind. I thought how could I have been so
stupid not to notice the absurdity of this common brag amongst JW's before.
" the watchtower goes into court to fight for freedom of religion all over the world" they say.
"Of course we only want freedom for OUR religion all others are going to be destroyed " that
is the truthful answer to that question, but I felt so silly I changed the subject.
When we got home from field service that day I was in shock at how simply seeing this issue
from another angle highlighted what audacity we have, even bringing up freedom of religion.
It was one of those crystallizing moments where I thought
I cant defend this BS anymore.

I am in the process of fading so a little ways to go before
I reach the end of the tunnel. When i was still trying desperately to make sense of everything
I used to think I must be imagining all of these problems it is very liberating to find I am not crazy after all.
I have noticed you seem to be a caring person and after what you must have been through from the borg
that is quite an accomplishment to leave with your humanity still in tact. Well done you!

Jehovahs witnesses dont have the name of GOD right so how can they be his witnesses
by smiddy inthe tetragrammaton ,does not appear anywhere in the christian greek scriptures see the new world kingdom interlinear translation.
the tetragrammaton translated in english is yhwh ( not jhvh) their is no j in hebrew.. the first edition of the book " aid to bible understanding" admits that the proper pronunciation of gods name is not known.. that they have used the name jehovah because it is the more popular name used in christendoms religions.
and they say christendoms religions are apostates / anti christs /babylon the great , can they have it both ways ?.

This point of what Gods name really is and if it even matters if we should use it always bothered me. Jesus does'nt use it in the model prayer you think he would have mentioned something if it was so vital to salvation. Surely a being that could create the universe wouldnt be so hung up about it. I cant imagine wanting to destroy an otherwise good person because they didnt get my unpronouncable name right. The WT just like to make out they have God on speed dial.
