The dumest thing an elder ever said to me..
by new hope and happiness inconversation with an elder...i said " did you watch due south yesterday" and he said " ive got far more important things to do".
i mean that comment of his got me to thinking and wondering, and made me see he was missing out on living..and i think that comment was the straw that broke this boys faith, and started my i dont want to be a witness anymore.
kind of wierd how a simple question opened my eyes.. and now as i write this i am watching " the rebel" a 1950s western series, and its great and its even better my 9 year old is watching with me..and there is nothing more important than being happy.. .

You just have to learn how to wing-it.
If they are studying a book you didn't bring just read your bible (or pretend to), also pretend to take notes everyone will just assume you're very studious. Do it with confidence and a thoughtful look on your face and nobody will be any the wiser. Good luck.

How many have stopped attending at YOUR Kingdumb Hell?
by hamsterbait inon a recent thread about the fleecing of the sheeples, one poster said their congo was down to 85 publishers from 102.. the last hall i attended had 80-odd publishers 20 years ago, now only 30.. how much of a decline at your kh?.

Our cong of about 80 has been at around 40 attending for so long now the
CO suggessted removing half the seats, and the remaining seats be spread out, so it doesn't look so empty.
Apparently the bro's giving talks were discouraged because of large numbers of empty seats. Poor diddums.

@DJS- yes, it worries me that children are still being taught to suppress unpleasant emotions rather than actually accepting that unpleasant emotions are a part of life, and find a healthy way of letting off steam. Too many kids now think they should feel happy all the time, and just don't know what to do with feelings of sadness or rejection, which happens to everyone.

Were you surprised when you went in service for the first time....
by Muddy Waters inwere you surprised when you went in service for the first time (this question is prob for those who were not born-in) --.
when i first had the "privilege" of going in field service as an unbaptized publisher, i remember feeling so surprised at everybody's apparent slowness.
all the talks at the kh emphasized how we were in the last days, doing a life saving, critical, never to be repeated, work, etc., yet you get in the car group and ignore people walking right by or coming toward the car, and then slowly walk from house to house.

Would Your Family Stone You to Death?
by cofty inot law required jews to take the lead in stoning a family member who became apostate.. the watchtower has lamented the fact that the law of the land now forbids them from doing so.. if the law permitted it, as it does in some musim countries, and if the watchtower required it, would your family obey?.
my parents are good people and i believe their love for me is genuine, but i think they would follow orders.. what about yours?.

@sarahsmile- Yes it's quite frightening when their mask slips and you see the seething animosity underneath.
When they are in the "love, love, love- happy-happy-joy-joy" mode it's hard to believe they could ever act like that.
Like catching sight of what "Dorian Grey" really looks like.

fresh faced, rosy cheeks, and a little pudgy.

I got a small heart tattoo on my ...............ankle (yes, just the ankle, that was the limit to my bad-ass phase).
I regretted it when I became a witness. Now it reminds me of a time when life was more carefree and irresponsible (fun in other words).
It reminds me I have lived.

Hell yeah, there were some sisters who were incapable of walking and talking at the same time.
The bro's were hopeless at organizing even small groups of people, especially if there was an odd number.
Most seemed to do the exact opposite of what had been demonstrated only days before at the service meeting.
And don't even get me started on the pushy big-mouth sisters who always took over the door.
I observed a major disconnect between how we were instructed to do it and how it was in reality.
I often felt very embarrassed and uncomfortable for the householders who did'nt have a clue what was going on.

I think it is quite natural to admire beauty regardless of gender. And there are some beautiful people out there.
The human body is a work of art.
