  my friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.

  he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".

  isn't that kinda what religious means?

  ......so "happy and lovely"

  How misleading.

  Anyone who knows anything about "growing up borg" would know this to be untrue.

  But it adds to the myth of "strange but harmless".

  i attended the regional convention (district convention) over the last weekend, and thought i would spend a few minutes putting down some thoughts, for your amusement.

  i will bounce around a bit, as my notes and thoughts were a little craaaaazy.. we met at one of the smaller venues on the west coast, with attendance around 7,000.

  (28 baptized.... <.04%) we were tied in to the international convention in arlington, tx.. my first thought, only about 2 hours in, was how much this sounded like a plain old sales meeting!

  this week's bible highlights, as well as last week indicated that the promise land wasn't so fortunate as thought.

  this week it mentions premature balding.

  if you were balding prematurely, you had to see the priests.

  Anyone who thinks spending 2-4 hrs a week for indoctrination at the KH is not harming them-

  mentally, emotionally, morally and spiritually needs to think again.

  It's a cult! Even when you are fully cognizant of that fact you are still vulnerable to their insidious attacks on your self esteem.

  You come home from meetings not even knowing why you are feeling vaguely depressed and anxious, you blame yourself for being "weak".

  It's a vicious cycle. What makes it worse is while you are in that cycle you don't see the connection.

  You think "I am strong enough to deflect this crap, I am ok"

  But it will take it's toll. Not if-WHEN!

  Ah the days.....to be packed into a hot uncomfortable stadium and force-fed BS.

  All the while petending to be happy, happy, happy.

  Looking into the dead eyes of the other "stepford families" and thinking to yourself .... "dear god, just shoot me"

  They are teaching/coercing people into lifestyle that will change the course of their lives and potentially shorten it.

  Then these people pass it on to their children and the dysfunction continues.

  Just wrong, all wrong.
