When I was in I just just accepted the whole dates thing on face value and never queried it. Most people learn about these dates as children of the borg or during the love bombing honeymoon phase of their recrutiment and their eyes glaze over during these studies, talks and articles. So these lies are "hidden in plain sight" for the majority of JWs.

I wish more would gently and intelligently challenge their beliefs like this, when they come to the door. If more people did I think many of the JWs (the ones I know anyway) would start feeling very uncomfortable about what they actually believe and that the WT expects them to defend the indefensible.

Because WT are such spin doctors and masters in the art of misdirection it's difficult to know what they are up to, and what their intention is. I believe there is more design than accident in all their actions.
I wouldn't be surprised if they sent up multiple false flag events to distract from what they are really doing.

so now that the borg has taken all of the congregations money, there was just a resolution to get all new tv's, etc for the stage for the new meeting format.. i wasn't there, but it was a large sum.
somebody mentioned over 3000$.. all the congregations in the city are likely doing the same thing, and are getting all the equipment from bethel.. i was wondering if this was happening all most everywhere?.
can't see it in third world countries( might not even have internet).

TV screens will eventually do the lion's share of the indoctrinating. The big blue hypno-globe spinning ever so slowly lulling the congregations into a nice sleepy state of "switching off" mentally so their weakened minds can drink in more koolaid of "listen....obey....be bessed.....for the greater good...worship the GB.....donate more time, more money....you're all worthless and weak....."

i have a bit of a dilemma that i would welcome advice on from the forum.. a brother in my congregation is giving evidence of having woken up - his comments and talks are usually slanted towards topics discussed here.
he is a former elder and is part of a group of other former elders and ministerial servants who i regularly overhear using terms i would expect to hear from ones knowing ttat.
he is a quite an effective teacher and will probably influence some.. however, in the past he has caused lots of problems for myself and others who i like (including another poster to this site who i have identified) and continues to be someone who i dislike intensely on a personal level.. his comments have been noticed by the body of elders and he is being watched.
I don't see where the dilemma lies.
Surely, it is up to the individuals involved to deal with him how they see fit, and you do the same.
sitting listening to some very evocative music, rachmaninov, my mind wandered across 4 decades of friendships and laughter in the borg, friiends now faded to memories.
the time in "the ministry" just after a co visit when he had urged us to knock more persistently at doors instead of quiet taps so we did not disturb anyone.
i was with someone and showing off how loud i could knock and firmly attacked the large brass door knocker in the centre of the door.
In my area there was a spate of incidents in which totally naked men answering the door when sisters called. I got sick of this and decided I wasn't going to let a bit of nudiness put me off. And sure enough me and another sister went up to this door one chilly morning and a naked guy answered the door smirking like he expected me to run away screaming, only I stood there, looked directly into his eyes and spent the next ten to fifteen giving him a Genesis to Revelation sermon without batting an eyelid.
I thought, if he wanted to go all "full monty" I would go full JW.
At the end I said "oh and BTW you might want to put something on it's cold out here."
I think I wanted to high five the sister I was with, but she just stared at me speechless and said " er...that was great..."
congregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.
i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.
the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..
