Everything about the memorial is so ritualistic when you break it down and think about it.
But what ritual?
it's just so weird to me.
for a group that is against idolatry so much and yet each person has to "touch" the bread and wine.. one lady was standing and holding a baby.
she called the server over just so she could put her thumb on the bread and wine.. did jesus ever clarify what he wanted them to do in remembrance of him?

i have posted one other time on this website.
just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.
some did give me some help on my questions.
Gee thanks, yeah, now you mention it, I spose we are a rag-tag bunch of WT misfits and escapees here.
Funny that, it being an apostate website and all.
under the exterior of being an ex- witness site, is this site simply converting atheism?.
i pose the question, because many come here in distress and insecurity with the realization that the w.t is wrong but still retain a belief in god.
my personal opinion is the threads on god are not challenged by an atheists personal animosity to believers, they are challenged and become confrontational because the atheist wants an elaboration and factual proof to a believers faith.. is this unreasonable?
I don't know about being "contolled" by athiests, that sounds a bit.... organized. Also makes it sound like all the athiest members have formed a kind of wrestling tag team that join forces for the purpose of taking down the religious nutbags one at a time and then high-five themselves for it...phhft......don't be ridiculous.
All I know is, the whole of mankind (which is shock horror, bigger than this site) is being controlled by religion in one form or another.
wow this is interesting!
i think how much emphasis this puts on "loyalty" shows their is an issue.
they're trying to plug the wholes as much and quickly as possible.
i don't want my wife recognizing me, but i feel like making an anti-jw scene.
i'm just wondering if jws keep inviting you back or if they've given up on you.. they haven't invited me for years..
Memorial season, just like constipation and all of WT's failed prophecies - it will pass.
But no, no invite.
I am pretty sure there was movement at the station and word has got around that "......whisper, whisper.... shh. Have you heard.....sparrowdown is a ....is a........apostate!"
wherever i go, i say "thank you" to clerks, servers, delivery people, hosts and hostesses and the response has become invariable: "no problem!".
have i aged to the point i'm now an old fuddy duddy who doesn't "get it"?.
is it counted mannerly to avoid, "you're welcome" in favor of "no problem"?.
i had no idea that the resistance, governance, and duplicity i am experiencing as a jehovah witness is actually part of a bigger behavioral issue that permeates the entire jehovah witness culture.. i was troubled by the fact that many persons who have been crushed by the unfair practices of jw leadership described themselves as former members of the jw cult, and, or, apostates.
the latter bothered me to a greater degree because i felt the word apostate has been overused by jw's leadership and members.
anyone who disagrees with anything the governing body does or says is assigned the label an apostate.
I am a proud apostate as the WT defines an apostate, but I actually prefer the term "awake" because for me, it means I am now conscious as in I am aware of my choices and that I am responsible for them.
For a cult's lies to be effective it takes two things the lies themselves and the person to believe and act on the lies.
I have chosen not to be the second part of that equation anymore.

Sorry Terry, couldn't resist.
