Actually, the drug overdose doesn't fit with his otherwise healthy lifestyle. He was a vegan, he worked out, he didn't smoke or take recreational drugs by all indications he was very health conscious. He may have been out there creatively and artistically but by all accounts he took care of himself. I reckon if he did OD on prescription drugs it must have been an accident or some contraindicated drug mix up. -

Baby talk...
by The Rebel ingee reading my earliest posts, i feel i arrived here needing a head transplant.
of course we can't ban our earliest posts, and we can't claim we were misquoted, but then again think about it, many of us come here with geoffrey jacksons brains and mind control ruling our thinking.. so i looked back at my earlier posts, and i imagined the man i was who made them.
to be honest i hardly recognized him, i feel infinitely a better and wiser less pious now, however i i don't feel so clever nor do i have such a deep religious faith.. anyway, the thread was made because i have often read posters past threads in order to get to know them better, but it never occurred to me to read my own past threads, and i learnt i am glad i had the guts to make my earlier posts, but the person that made them is in the far distant past.

Well, there is a Simpsons episode where some men in suits (elders perhaps?) instruct Homer to kill Prince. Homer kills Prince by wrestling his guitar off him and stabbing him in the back with it. DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!! -

Hello
by WITNESS-FOR-WATCHTOWER-REFORM injust to say a big hello.
i have been reading this site for some time now and have been very unhappy with some of the things emanating from watchtower head quarters in new york.
the final straw for me is the upcoming watchtower study this weekend encouraging us to shun our own family members (our own mothers if need be) if they are disfellowshipped....a step too far for my liking.

Hi WWR, I admire your enthusiasm and yeah if everyone wrote a stern letter every now and then it may cause a few chuckles around the morning worship table at Bethel.
I myself don't believe WT can be changed it has to be stopped so my wishful thinking is for a takedown rather than reform. Even a slow unraveling will do me.😇
Welcome to your life, there's no turning back.

I love Prince's music and the guy was surely talented. I have no business judging his lifestyle choices, after all who really knows these megastars...I mean really knows.
I do have a huge problem, on the other hand with WT's double standards.
When dealing with a "big fish" they are tolerant and forgiving of personal matters and choices.
When dealing with regular r&f they are brutal, merciless, and intolerant of the slightest infraction. Happy to delete, disfellowship and "mark" people they have no use for as bad association and don't give a flying fig about the lives they destroy in the process.
The WT likely showed a very different side of themselves to "Brother " Prince than the one you and I are familiar with.

Watchtower set for its biggest pay day, ever.
by pleaseresearch inif this is true, and we will have to wait and see.
prince could give everything to the watchtower.
so that's his $300 million fortune.

I agree with Finkelstein, there is every reason to believe Prince had lapsed considerably over the last few years.
Occult symbolism and imagery still played into his stage acts, and fashion statements particularly third eye imagery etc. I get the impression he had faded.
I really do hope he didn't leave any of his hard earned money to those parasites.

Start your own Prince rumour!
by purrpurr ini see the jw rumour mill is going into mad overdrive about prince.
the stories seem to be more and more unlikely.
so i thought as a bit of fun how about us here try to make up our own rumours?

The Law of Unintended Consequences
by Londo111 inthe governing body/watchtower unduly influences millions into extreme beliefs and behaviors.
and i suspect folks like anthony morris thinks his flock is not obedient or strict enough and there are many rules and teachings the governing body would love to enact but do not have the votes, or even they have the sense enough to know it would go too far.
however, i can’t help how by the time their edicts filter down to the rank and file jw, it causes unintended consequences.

"By their fruits you will recognize them" WT's "fruits" are rotten to the core.
