  Every individual JW is free to choose whether to obey the GB or not - they just don't know it.

  It is a prison of the mind you are in as a JW, which is difficult to prove.

  Waking up to this is like you and your loved ones have been sitting in a prison cell for years when you get up one day and finally trying to open the door you discover it's actually never been locked and walking out past the guards to find out they never had the physical power to stop you and their guns are props.

  It sucks donkey dong and it is difficult and scary to disobey the GB but people can always use the magic word when it comes to shunning or any other GB imposed rules, and that word is NO!

  Disfellowshipped 2x adultry divorce remarried getting divorce to write my wrong

  this is bit hard for me but im lost and don't know what to do.. 2010-married to a disfellowship person after only knowing him 3 months i began studying baptized few months later and he was reinstated same year.. i committed adultry 3-4 times in first 2 years of marriage he forgave me.

  he was a recovering alcoholic and fell off wagon hard when i tried to fix my wrong it was way out of hand he moved in drug addicts in the home we fought constantly i tried to get personal studies with a sister to keep going but i failed at that and left my husband i left for another man 2 in half years later im looking to divorce because well what goes around comes around and he committed adultery on me .

  i got what was coming for thinking i would live happy ever after.

  apparently the local dubs are getting together and chartering a bus.

  Stranger asks about your kids mental wellness. ..

  last night at the meeting there was a suggested presentation about the new mags, which cover the issue of depression in minors.

  the jw jumps straight from "hi how are ya" to "how is your kids mental well-being " and of course the hh is more than happy to discuss the inner workings of their child's mind with a stranger whose just knockedmon their door(!).

  if it was me i'd be majorly creeper out!.

  JWs have been asking inappropriate personal questions and of householders for sometime now, it's kinda been their signature move at the door that distinguishes them from mormons and avon.

  They have hides like a rhino when it comes to intrusive and would be the perfect people to sell adult diapers door to door for this reason.

  i was at the meeting last night and the dreadful video about caleb and sparlock was forced upon the audience.

  honestly, i had forgotten how bad it was.

  the mother's manipulative over-reaction and caleb's acceptance that his toy was evil.

  Has anyone else seen this video on JW Broadcasting?

  so i was checking out the website to see what the february broadcast was all about before i watched it with my jw wife.. on the front page was this video.... https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/pub-jwbai_201607_1_video.

  i watched it and pretended i had never been a jw.. if you pretend you don't understand their particular language it makes for a interesting (if not vague) watch.. btw i've seen several of the actors before.

  steve2: is there some way this can be presented so that it is crystal clear what was actually in the demonstrations and what was added?

  i guess some will think it should be obvious - but this is where misunderstandings arise because we end up wrongly attributing something to jw organization that was never said.. circuit assembly theme: maintain love for jehovah!.

  note to speaker: warmly encourage young ones to prove their friendship with jehovah by observing his commandments and defending his standards.

  Yeah, I was thinking similar thoughts. They don't mind if men are gay as long as they don't dress like they're gay and talk like they're gay and arrange the throw cusshions like they're gay.

  Women cannot be lesbians at all, ever because it's disgusting, full stop end of story.

  What has been your own personal experience of shunning?

  i am interested in finding out on a small scale the extent of which shunning has impacted on you personally.. my own experience is that when i faded about 12 years ago.

  the woman whose house the book study was held at (and who was virtually a neighbour) walked right past me in my own street.

  i remember it so well.

  Not "known" as apostate.

  My crimes? Inactive and not at meetings. I am shunned with impunity even by people I barely knew.

  If you asked any one of these people any doctrinal question and the smart money is on them not being able to answer. But ask them for a list of who they are not supposed to associate with and they would be able to rattle off a list of names no worries at all.
