Amen to that Scully. Now, if only the Government thought so.

Three congregations dissolved and a kingdom hall sold within a 50 mile radius in my area...
by UNCONDITIONAL LOVE inhas anyone else heard of these situations with congregations and halls in your area?
i thought the ground breaking mandatory pledge a little while ago was to keep up with "immense" growth?
how soon they forget... looks really bleak for the future of the wbats, the jw gravy train seems to be coming to a slow and agonizing yet inevitable stop.

Shame on WT don't they know it makes Jehovah sad when he is taken out of a song.
When Jehovah is taken out of a song it takes the song out of Jehovah 😣.

Yep it's like a game of musical chairs except with KHs.
And we all know what happens at the end of musical chairs one chair one winner.
But what about musical KHs? One website one winner = WT???
It makes good business sense to streamline, downsize, consolidate and merge etc etc and WT at the end of the day is a business it will make decisions as a business would.

The Study edition of Luke NWT Now on JW.ORG...great, now they dig even deeper into the pile of muck
by NikL inso had to check it out to see what it's all about.. what i got was more cloudiness.
as in luke 2:9.... suddenly jehovah’s angel stood before them, and jehovah’s glory gleamed around them, and they became very fearful.
the notes point out.... jehovah’s angel: this expression occurs many times in the hebrew scriptures, starting at ge 16:7. when it occurs in early copies of the septuagint, the greek word agʹge·los (angel; messenger) is followed by the divine name written in hebrew characters.

@Menrov - The wording of the second translation you cited (ECB) is a classic "... and they awe a mega awe." Lol!

"We thank you our God..."
Maybe they knew they couldn't get away with "We thank you, our Money, for all you have done"

Becoming the average JW (and what I found out about the average 'Joe Witness')
by Skepsis inuntil a couple of months ago i was an uber-spiritual pioneer, only having association with other pioneers, elders and others who would fill in the category i classified as "spiritually acceptable" friends.. but since stopping pioneering and having more time to think about my doubts and what i really believe (or better said, what i no longer believe), i have started getting to know other less spiritual brothers and sisters of the area.
in fact, my old friends are starting to forget me quite quickly, i must say.
so, i guess my next move in fading is becoming what i call the average witness.. and what did i discover?

So much for "uber-spiritual pioneer" dubness being a spiritual "protection" lol.
To me it seems the more "uber" and "privileged" a witness is the more likely they are to wake up.
Luke warm apathetic dubs are the worst to try and wake up because they are in the habit of not thinking or caring about whether the religion's teachings are true or not.
Ironic hey.

You heard it here first folks from Brother Richard.
"It should be a personal decision."
Of course it should be and that's exactly how I view blood now, the same way I view medication, diet, lifestyle decisions made by me as an individual after I know the relevant info because I am free to research the relevant info and not because the WT and seven wannabe-popes in New York told me that "Jehovah says so."

Last Sunday's WT Study re Anxiety
by Nicholaus Kopernicus inthis article could be seen as a nice read compared with the banality and repetitiveness of many articles in recent years.
however, several areas in the article still troubled me.
paragraph one externalises the cause of an individual’s anxiety to satan the devil.

Witnesses that believe everything the WT says are doomed to live with the perpetual anxiety that comes from never quite living up to WT's requirements basically because it's impossible to "fulfill the whole law" or get off Jehovah's hamster wheel. WT knows this they're not stupid, it's how successful cults work afterall. Set up an unachievable standard a cult classic.
So, even their articles on relieving anxiety induce anxiety, not because of the hamster wheel the sheeple find themselves chained to but because the message from WT is "stupid sheeple you can't even manage your anxiety the right way."
So disempowering! Which btw is also what cults like WT do.

The true cost of being raised as a witness
by stuckinarut2 inhow do you view your upbringing as a witness?.
most of us who were raised as witnesses would appreciate that some aspects of our upbringing were ok. a foundation and measure of stability came with it.. but, it struck me too, that we also lost so very much!
and we lost a lot of potential.. by this i mean, we need to look at not just what we lost, or what was deprived of us, but what that ended up costing us as adults into the future.. if i take $10 from you, you have lost just $10.. but, if you were going to use that $10 to buy something that would end up earning you $1000, then i actually took $1000 from you!.

Good points Perry.
I think all JWs are emotionally unreachable. They have suppressed, repressed, stuffed, bashed over the head and buried in the backyard all their natural, original thoughts and feelings and this makes having a relationship one of
them dificult at best impossible at worst.
The first thing I did when waking up was to set out to find me, sounds cliche but when you have been denying your own thoughts and feelings for so long you need to become reaquainted with your true self, where you end and WT begins, what are your thoughts/feelings and what were embeded there by WT.
Once I did this the "fake" became unbearable to deal with. I could probly "play the game" "stick to the script" when I see JWs but I can't stand pretending anymore just to make them and their deluded brains feel better.
