I don't care if WT goes down by being crippled by lawsuits or fines, crash and burn, shrivel on the vine, death by a thousand cuts...

The Danger of Settlements
by Tech49 ini was pondering the recent influx of lawsuits against wt, specifically in regards to the child abuse cases (ie.
conti, fessler, lopez, etc).. in each of these, wt has settled for an "undisclosed" amount, assumed to be in the millions of dollars each.
i know there are many many more cases, subject for a different thread i'm sure.. i was reading something completely unrelated a while back that mentioned the dangers of settlement agreements for a large corporation or business (not just wt).

Which is worse according to the GB: Child Abuse or Apostasy??
by stuckinarut2 inso we all know how the organization conducts itself regarding child abuse.
the multitude of legal cases worldwide including the current australian royal commission as well as anecdotal accounts prove their attitude.. perpetrators have not been reported to authorities, and data bases of such have been kept sealed even when demanded by the courts!.
however, when it comes to those of us who have simply left the organization due to learning the truth, the society spares no effort in spreading gossip and ensuring that one's name and reputation is ruined.. so gb, which crime is worse?

According to the GB there is no crime/sin worse than apostasy.
Hell, Hitler will be in the paradise just for being dead but we apostates - NOT! lol.

Hey Buster k, welcome to the beautiful wonderful jungle/asylum of freedom. I too have a wicked sense of humour not everyone gets - don't worry bout it.
Now re your post.
I hope the GB do like their new facility as they will be dying there or is that rapturing...taking the elevator to heaven?
What do you call what the GB think they will be doing?
Oh that's right they will be joining Jesus in heaven to exterminate horribly the majority of mankind yaaaaay.
Fun times ahead for the GB.

Is Jehovah God guilty of the Sin of Omission ?
by smiddy inin genesis ch.1&2 god warns adam that if he ate of the tree of knowledge of good and bad he would die .theire was nothing said about anything else.. you would expect humans would just die of old age like adam and eve did.. the wages of sin is death the bible tells us .so if he disobeyed jehovah god he knew he would die .. what he never knew and neither did any other human to come after him was just how many ways death would come to humans.. death by creatures that were created by god venomous creatures ,snakes spiders etc.,marine creatures sharks etc., bacteria /viruses etc.,insect carrying diseases such as the mosquito that causes thousands of deaths to children under 5 years old even today with malaria.,wild animals etc,.leprosy that even existed under theocratic rule in the nation of israel.. then their is the indignties humans go through in old age ,loss of bodily functions , mental capacity ,alzheimers ,neurological diseases that effect young and old.that reduce people to almost live not much better than a vegetable .
natural disasters not to be excluded because these are in the control of god to afflict mankind or not.. the list of afflictions that humans have to suffer through before they die , from a loving god just boggles my mind.. and i have only scratched the surface of indignities humans have faced before they die.. so i ask the question is god jehovah guilty of the sin of omission ?
or did he act out of vengeance for their disobedience and wanted to inflict greater punishment upon them.for disobeying him.. what are your thoughts ?.

Meh "Jehovah" smehovah. These tales of so-called "do this or else" as written by men and interpreted by men have been used by religion for thousands of years to control people. When you are trying to control people with fear the less detail you give the more effective the fear.

Sample Disassociation Letter please?
by LifesNotOver ini want to send a disassociation letter to the elders at my old congregation.
how do i address it and what wording do i use?
i know it's not something i have to do, it's symbolic for me.
-

The letter is for you not them so the formalities are not that important - they will still accept it regardless.
Say what was the deal breaker for you in a concise way (I doubt they bother to read long letters) and you cannot in all good conscience support an organization such as this any longer etc etc you get the drift.
All the best with it and I hope it helps you move on.

Ive seen a few you tube videos where a cart is left to fend for itself because the publisher manning it took off when they were asked a question they didn't like and couldn't answer? Lol.
They should have a sticker of return on them like shopping carts/trolleys.

WT Society Creates the Atmosphere which Spawns Child Abuse in Congregations
by flipper inbeen thinking about this lately after almost 14 years out of the jw cult myself.
when you think of the language used within the jehovah's witness organization in such a closed society environment in how the wt society promotes almost absolute " trust " in the elders , the governing body, and trust even in the " friends " in the congregation themselves- is it any wonder that unscrupulous child molesters can enter any congregation pretending to be " spiritual " and take advantage of unsuspecting children or the parents ?
think about it : an individual is judged as a " spiritual " person within the jw organization based on what wt functions or duties they are good at performing.

I always thought the atmosphere of automatic trust given over willy-nilly to any Tom Dick or Nancy that called themselves a "Brother" to be absolutely naive, delusional and downright irresponsible. If I ever voiced my concerns over this I would be be told "you have to learn to trust the brothers."
On day at the meeting for field service some guy just turned up that noone knew from Adam and announced "he was there on holidays" and that he "had looked up the address of the KH on google." That was it, no more info about him was given or asked for. We were going in car groups to rural territory and he was treated like a visited dignitary by the group of sisters the whole morning. The guy went to the doors but didn't do one as he was "just a visitor" the other sisters fussed and cooed over him trusting him completely even though he could have been Jack the bloody ripper for all we knew. It was truly crazy.
This sort of thing happened with "interested persons" also. They would just turn up at a meeting and you were supposed to "love bomb" them from the getgo so as not to "stumble them" regardless of the fact that you didn't know a thing about them.
You are absolutely friggin right Flipper the whole set up would seem like a paradise smorgas board to a predator and the unscrupulous.

June 2017 Watchtower - Jehovah's Sovereignty is at stake if you disagree with us
by Listener infour years ago the watchtower made the following demand.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.
they are not content with obedience and in the upcoming june watchtower they have this to say -15. how does respect for theocratic headship reveal our love for jehovah’s way of ruling?15 what is our response to divinely authorized headship?

Ha! Good one Vidiot.
Jehovah actually has a lot of self-esteem issues which makes him very cranky and demanding at times. He's like a giant toddler-God in many ways.
