Just asked JW wife to quit
by rathernotsay inso i wont get into why i asked my jw wife to leave... theres another thread for that lol... but more out of pure curiosity i asked her just now... "in order to save this marriage would you leave the jws?
", it was a snap call no, like not even a second to pause and think about it, which kinda took me back a bit, followed by a angry "why would you ask me that now?
" (shes going out witnessing with my kids and her friends).

there's a talk about remaining neutral.
one of the topics they say jw's should avoid is the topic of "peoples lives matter" which is barely veiled code for black lives matter.

Speaking out of both sides of their arse as usual. WT are using media more than ever these days to cry foul about the Russian ban to promote letter writing campaigns, conventions and carts and issue statements about how they "abhor child abuse" and whatnot should we believe media then?

I Think There Should Be Laws Against Political Discrimination
by minimus ini think it’s terrible and simply wrong not to serve a person in a restaurant simply because you disagree with their political views.
i think that when a uber driver dumps a car load of people simply because they speak amongst themselves about politics that the driver doesn’t agree with—-it’s discrimination!
this type of discrimination will cost people their lives someday!.

I agree about this sort of thing being relatively isolated and then blown up by media to stir the pot which in turn triggers other incidents in sympathy or retaliation which of course they highlight that too, it gives the impression it's happeneing more frequently than it actually is although the media seem to want to induce outrage- it's good for ratings. Also some people just want their 15minutes of fame.

A Writer's Graveyard
by compound complex inimmersed in dickens and hawthorne, i cannot easily shake off the dusty antiquity of a bygone era.
however, its scant reality inhabits, not the present, but my sad hearkening back to the shadows of long ago.. hot blood pulses anew within fingers i thought stilled forever in a writer's graveyard of unwritten verse.
it is a reluctant awakening to a life much sadder than that endured by storybook friends who cannot see me, know me.. permit me, therefore, to reenter that precious twilight betwixt my present and the past, the faraway there of dearly departed poets.

Creativity ebbs and flows the trick seems to be to understand that the ebbs and flows are as normal as breathing in and out or the waves of the ocean.
During the ebbs I find it helpful to paint a study of someone elses work just to mark time while waiting for the next flow because I think it was Picasso(?) who said inspiration will come but she has to find you working.

The old saying about "you can lead a horse to water..." still stands.
Horses only drink when thirsty and people will only do meaningful reseach that causes change when thirsty for facts and knowledge. What is the catalyst and when that person becomes "ready to drink" is personal and individual.
Sorry to mix metaphors but when I started researching it was like breathing unpolluted oxygen for the first time in years when only a year earlier I didn't, why? Because I didn't want to. I wasn't ready.
