Notice they never show any official stats or figures to back up any claims they make of the % of people who seperate and those that don't. Face it WT would you prefer all to be miserable and enslaved - even if it's by proxy including the "unbelieving" mate.

DECEMBER 2018 WATCHTOWER STUDY ARTICLE...Many loyal Christians have remained with an unbelieving mate under very trying circumstances.
by RULES & REGULATIONS indecember 2018 study article :.
honor “what god has yoked together”.
17 admittedly, there have been instances where an “unbelieving husband” seems to prove that he is not “agreeable to staying with her.” he might be extremely physically abusive, even to the point that she feels that her health or life is in danger.

What the article doesn't acknowledge are all those supportive "unbelieving" mates. Most of the couples I knew the husband was very accommodating of the "sister" financially supporting her while she pioneered, driving her to and fro from meetings patiently waiting in the car, turning up at memorials for her sake, helping at KH working bees.
The other thing it doesn't mention is the abusive JW mates?
I 'm not saying there are not difficult or even abusive unbelieving mates out there but the article makes it sound like all unbelievers either are or will be abusive. The article is simplistic, one-sided and short on information. There are other sides to this issue they are not talking about.

They don't mind using brothers or sisters who have obtained a qualification/degree of some sort at HQ or sending bethelites off to further education when it suits them or highlighting some university educated witness or bethelite in the broadcasts or magazines or putting out a call for formerly trained musicians and singers for the choir and music videos etc. They're not making these movies with untrained people that's for sure. And let's not forget the bean counters and legal departments - don't you need higher ed for those jobs.
As usual it's "do as I say not as I do" from the GB.

"We don't do that" - Serena Williams talking about celebrating birthdays
by vivalavida ini guess you can be physically out, like in a huge way, but definitely mentally in.. serena williams claims she won't be celebrating her daughter's first birthday.. i did know people like that, raised as a jw but never actually baptizing.
that didn't mean they were not messed up in the head though..

She doesn't get what being a jw is like because she was never a real one.
There are many people who are sort of nominal jws, never actually became one just knew some or grew up around them or have family that are full on dubs and they went to meetings for while and they think they know all about it.
I think she be one of those fake ass witnesses.

by Bad_Wolf inhttps://international.la-croix.com/news/jehovahs-witness-leader-urges-elders-to-destroy-sex-abuse-records/8188#.
a california court fined only $2,000 to the wt for not releasing records of 775 sex abuse cases?
they should have made the fine 20 million +.

What "law" is it when you refer to an exjw as a "window cleaner" I wonder.

I was in a store the other day and a female pioneer I know walks in and right past me with her "shun glasses" on over to the sales people and gives them a tract and loudly starts being all warm and friendly to them as she tries to "witnesss" to them. Then when she's done being sweetness and light she pivots and walks back directly past me again and doesn't look at me or say a word.
I just watched the whole thing play out with mild amusement.
Needless to say I'm not D-effed or D-assed!

“Monkey this up”...
by minimus inthat expression is a no-no now.
it is racist and hateful.
some people just need to get the monkey off their backs..

Maybe all this appropriating of monkey culture should just stop!
The monkeys don't like it when anything that describes their predilection for mischief is referred to as "monkey" this and "monkey" that.

Why does it affect us so deeply?
by stuckinarut2 ini was having a great chat with a valued friend and fellow forum member today on the phone.. we were discussing how deeply we all get affected by jw interactions - even years after fading or disassociating.. you know what i mean.
those days when we run into jws who we considered to be our close friends.
or "loving shepherds" who don't act kindly.

Yes, if you take the illustration of the "narrow road" that leads to "life" (finding the self) you could apply it to the struggle for and maintainence of truth and honesty (integrity)in ones life and the relatively "few" that choose that path.
First one needs to recognise the lies and then have the courage to reject them and walk away choosing this puts you in a precarious place socially and emotionally being at odds with most if not all the people you knew and loved and who you thought loved you. So in a sense a "narrow road."
It would seem at times it would have been much easier in many ways to just keep going along with the lies to get along and appease others like a "broad road" that leads to the "death" of self and the majority choose this.
As you can see I have given it some thought, lol, kind of "hero of a thousand journeys" type stuff.

Looking back now it's hard to believe there exists a group of people, of which I identified with, who allow themselves to be dictated to as to who they can and cannot show affection to or spend time with. That need permission from their leaders whether they can speak to family member or not and what subjects they can and cannot discuss.
Insanity!
