not sure if this is just for me or because I'm in the uk or if they're personalised or what.
i tried to post a picture but it won't let me. First result was jw.org, second was jwfacts, then some video about a couple that has left the org
recently attended a sad.. bethel speaker was gushing about the wt's embrace of new technology, in the part of his talk warning about "apostate" web sites.. a loose summary of his comments:.
"and the brothers at headquarters have made it very safe for you to go to our website.
in fact, the brothers talked to the folks at google, and they made a special arrangement so that when you type in 'j w period' into the google search engine, it automatically shows you the jw.org website.

hey guys i am new to the whole forum thing (long time reader, first time postererer) and i wanted to get some other opinions on something that has bothered me ever since i first became a jehovah's witness.. i was always taught at the kingdom hall that friends inside the orginisation were the only ones i could count on and that the ones out of it (mainly at school) were just being controlled by satan to trick me into leaving the religion.. however, i always found it to be the opposite.
my "worldly"friends were all accepting of my religion (back when i was ok with being a jw) and are the only ones i have really opened up to about wanting to leave.
the only things i have in common with the other teenagers in my hall (3 boys, 3 girls) are that we've all been raised in the truth and... well that's it.. i was just wondering if anyone else found the same thing when they were a teenaged jw or if anyone still in my age finds the same thing..
@Faithful Witness no I'm not baptised and that thing about the support was the whole reason I joined this forum
@jwfacts I'd like to thank you personally. I was having doubts because despite the many holes in the story of noah's ark, everyone seemed to be positive that it happened. I took a huge risk by going onto your website but it really paid off. It was a really good stepping stone that allowed me to start questioning the other things I was taught. This one time my mum invited a brother (one of the more knowledgable ones) over to try to convince me that it had happened. Unfortunately he was using the same material that both you have covered and that I had looked at personally before coming to the conclusion that it didn't happen.
looks like I'm out of posts for the next 8 hours or so. Guess I got a bit carried away there... I'll make a separate thread about my current beliefs and stuff later because that seems easier

@faithful witness. That's really sad to hear.
And from what you've said you were about as much of a jw as I currently am. I've been going to the meetings for years im not even a publisher. (lucklily my laziness kept me from committing to anything before I learned the real truth)
With my friends at school and stuff. I generally complain about the religion to anyone that asks of it but I do have a couple that I talk to about this stuff. Also, my mum knows that my circle of friends is pretty small if I only have friends in the org so doesn't mind too much if I spend time with friends after school and whatnot.
I always have the option of pulling the "I have a lot of homework" to get out of every other tuesday meeting too.
do jehovahs witnesses honestly, sincerely beleive that the end of this system of things is just around the corner, and that they have the role of warning all of mankind of what is to befall them .?
so why is their ministry so blasaise ?
knock on the door ,no body comes knock on the door again nobody comes ?
Well I guess Antarctica or the Americas weren't in his territory because the penguins evidently didn't survive a global flood.
wait a minute... They did??? This is just new light and I'm sure the faithful and discreet slave will provdie the right food at the proper time
i wanna hear the word that made you either physically nauseous or burst out in uncontrolable laughter.
please demonstrate it in a sentence as well.
mine was 'enthused' (my fingers were shaking as i typed).
Whoops posted that twice and idk how to delete this one

I remember on one of our congregation "get the young ones to come along so they don't realise how much more fun they could be having" get-togethers one of the brothers, in the middle of a random conversation, just says "this association, it's so refreshing isn't it brothers?" And everyone else simultaneously hums and ahhs in agreement
Did I miss something or what, who freaking talks like that?

It's also kind of a unfair for them to generalise 99.9% of the human population as being as evil when the majority are tolerant of their beliefs then when someone doesn't agree with them they pull the old "oh Lordy we're so persecuted, everyone is out to get us!!!" card
i don't see them refusing to associate with newcomers at the meetings.
luckily for me I wasn't really "born-in" but my mum became a jw while I was younger and I along with her. By that time I had already watched all the Disney channel specials on how no to be a judgemental a-hole to peel you haven't even bothered to get to know

another thing is that the other teenagers in the kh are just as "bad" as the worldly ones

Lol Data-dog i think I remember once in a publication about "young ones" (because teenagers is too much of a worldly word) they said something about how it was easy for jw kids to be popular at school due to their good biblical qualities or something like that and how we need to resist and choose our associations wisely.
But to be fair. I don't think I can count the number of times a girl's given me that look after I told her that god was gonna kill her at Arrmagedon ;)
