  i have a number of problems with the noah's ark story that i could never find the answer to in the bible and so i thought i could ask here:.

  1.how did noah get animals that are indigenous to areas he could not get to (e,g penguins, koalas, kangaroos, moose etc) .

  2.the flood supposedly happened around 4000 years ago but there is evidence of civilisation dating back a lot further.

  That's a shame because I promised my mum that I'd still go to the memorial and I would have loved to have seen the look on the brother's face after he sees me after they dropped that bombshell. I actually had this plan where I'd walk in, shake his hand and say "oh I forgot to give these back to you last time I saw you" then hand the "old light" bullcrap to him and walk off before he could try it give it back to me.

  If you ever get into a discussion with someone about this just mention the fact that penguins either made their way from antarctica onto the ark (with a years supply of high quality antarctic veggies) or that they evolved "within their kind" from a bird that was on the ark are the only ways they could be around today without relying on divine intervention

  Funny story, I started this thread about an hour before the router at home went and did a die so when I saw how many responses I got I was more than surprised.

  I still have a load of wt extracts about the flood that this brother brought over to try and convince me that the flood happened. I made a load of annotations on them but when he read them he didn't really care.

  I liked seeing a lot of new things I hadnt thought of like the ark not drifting to a completely different place or the fact that the bad angels didn't even die in the flood so it pretty much failed.

  Im sorry for being lazy but I can't be bothered to see who it was that asked something along the lines of "why aren't they allowed to say god must have if thats what they believe" but I have a reason. I didn't want a whole load of speculation on what god MIGHT have done without offering any proof. When I was going to the kh they always made a point about being able to go out on the ministry with juse your bible because the bible is the truth and it's all you need blah blah blah. Well I thought that, sticking to what it says in the bible, anyone should be able to answer a question about something it says in the bible.

  I'm willing to bet that in the next 4 years they'll have a flash of new light and declare that Noah's ark isn't literal

The wts say that Noah only needed two of each "kind" of animal (not an actual scientific term btw) to be on the ark. What is the actual definition of a kind? 4.how could the small number of animals apparently "evolve within their kinds" but one species evolving into another (what the wts refer to as macro evolution) be impossible 5. How did the freshwater fish survive when all the oceans and rivers mixed together? 6. What did the animals eat, not only on the ark, but on the journey to and from the ark? 7. Why did god not just kill the evil people in their sleep or something, why flood the entire world? 8.Where did all the water that was able to cover Mount Everest by 10 (it might have been 15) cubits go? If your answer contains the words "well god must have...."   Can god see into the future?

  this is something that's been bothering me for a while.. if god could see into the future, why has he allowed so many bad things to happen?

  for example in the garden of eden.

  he should have known from the beginning what would happen.if there was even the tiniest chance that they'd eat the fruit then god obviously didn't think it would be benefical to, idk, prevent it from happening?

  James Brown I'm not sure I like what you said about hitler being used by god and I don't think that really has much to do with what I'm asking. I might just be blinded by my disbelief and am unable to see what point you were trying to make.

  Endofmysteries my question was mainly directed at the wts depiction of the god of the bible i.e someone who knows how everything will play out in the future, can and has (supposedly) influenced humans so his prophecies would come true but decided to place a tree that would doom billions of people to suffering and death in the middle of a garden without using his powers to see if his little test would work

  1. The whole idea of quoting publications is to show you and anyone else reading this that there have been major changes to this "understanding" over time and there really isn't any point arguing for it because it will just change.
  2.the point everyone is trying to make is that the reason this "new light" came about was because the old light wasn't making sense anymore and the gb didn't want people to start questioning things
  2.you keep arguing against the fact that people in the same generation aren't born in the same year. No-one is saying that. You said it yourself, said that other people said it, then called them retarded(which btw isn't very nice amd I don't think the elders in your congregation would condone you insulting people)
  3.you mention common knowledge but common knowledge of what a word means is usually the dictionary definition. Which you're ignoring.
  4. If you think that it's just "apostates" that disagree with this stuff then why don't you try explaining how a generation works to someone who's never been a jw in the first place.
  5. Just a little thing to think about. The human population is increasing at a faster rate than the number of jws. So really, the longer God waits to start Armaggedon, the more people he's gonna have to kill for not becoming a jw when they had the chance.
  If you got this far down my post without sticking your fingers in your ears, burning the computer and singing kingdom songs while you wait for the 4 horsemen to come and kill all the apostates then thank you for reading.

  @Heavensgate if you want people to respect your opinion then saying everyone on this forum is a liar and copy and pasting entire wt publications into a sinlge post isn't the way to go. You also can't then turn around and say all people are doing is attack you.

  Even when your opinions are ridiculed most of the time they still have actual responses behind them that it seems you like to ignore.

  How about responding to what wasblind, outlaw or finkelstein just said in a clear, respectful way and I'm sure they'll do the same to you.
