Any active jws, without using the phrase "God must have..." Can you prove that Noah's ark actually happened
by DuvanMuvan ini have a number of problems with the noah's ark story that i could never find the answer to in the bible and so i thought i could ask here:.
1.how did noah get animals that are indigenous to areas he could not get to (e,g penguins, koalas, kangaroos, moose etc) .
2.the flood supposedly happened around 4000 years ago but there is evidence of civilisation dating back a lot further.

What was the most rebellious thing you did while you were a devout jw?
by DuvanMuvan ini was just thinking about how humans being imperfect and satan's influence was the root of everything bad that anyone has ever done.
well i know that apparently everyone is vulnerable which got me thinking about what "bad" things people have done while they were a jw.
i'll start it off.

My friends used to play COD a lot and go to house parties and get drunk with other jw kids

By saying things like magic are bad, do the WTS imply that it exists?
by DuvanMuvan ini was wondering why they're so uptight about magical things (cough cough sparlock cough) and was just remembering some quotes in the publications about demons and stuff i saw on another thread and i seriously think that they believe this stuff is real.. once i asked my mum why previously she said not to watch magicians because they're bad blah blah when it wasn't real, hence the term magic trick.
she admitted that while most of them are probably innocent, she still thinks some of them (anyone heard of dynamo?
) have some demonic power behind them.. i seriously wanna hear some other views on this .

Need advice for asking a girl out
by DuvanMuvan inwell long story short, i've been meaning to ask this girl at school out for a while but i can never do it because her friends are always there in the way and i would prefer to ask her in person.
we've liked each other for a while (i was oblivious until about a month or two ago) and i'm also i bit worried she'll get tired of waiting.. i was just wondering if anyone had any advice or something that they could give me.

Will the 2014 Memorial partaking YOUR last?
by prologos inpossibly yes.
many wt doctrine dissenters have privately taken the bread&wine on that night for years.
one reason is that the new covenant is not for heaven, but for forgiveness of sin, and jesus served the emblems to those with an earthly hope.

Sadly I think I'll have to go. When I stopped going I promised my mum that I would still go to the memorial and I'm really not looking forward to all the love bombing because I haven't been in a while. I also told her that I'd go if she had a "talk" which is a couple weeks before, they're gonna think that I'm coming back in and be even more pushy and annoying

For those who still attend- When was the last time you had a Congregation Picnic or Get together?
by BU2B init seems that in my neck of the woods there is no social interaction between jws outisde of fs and the kh.
the last get together was 3 summers ago.
other than that there is no bond.

In my congregation they always had something on for the "young ones" (anyone between 3 and 22) like every other month or some kind of dinner party. I always disliked going to them and I could never say no because i felt bad. They were always pretty boring and sometimes me and my friends in the kh would organise a sleep over on the night of a get together to get out of it.
While I was on my way out of the religion (not that long of a story but I couldn't be bothered to post it here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/275610/1/Life-for-me-as-a-jw-not-really-teenager#.Uy2hOScgGSM) I mentioned to my mum once how it was annoying that you can never say no when a jw asks you to do something because you just feel guilty. She tried to convince me that I don't have to do anything I didn't want to but it didn't work.
Well earlier this week my mum was invited to a dinner party hosted by a brother and his wife or something and has been trying to get out of it. Luckily I'm out for good so I don't have to go. Well a couple of hours ago my mum got a call from the brother. She tried to get out of it by pulling a sickie but in her words he "insisted" that she'd go anyway.
I'm not sure if that's dramatic irony, situation irony or what but it's pretty damn funny

Well if they can't use the biblical account for the core of they argument then I don't think Moses did a very good job at writing it. Especially since there was so much detail in the book of the numbers for example, you think he could at least have put all the "god must have"s into the account without leaving so much of it to interpretation. (I guess he was busy while writing genesis?)
