  i've been giving some thought to the society's latest decision to reduce the size of the awake, and relaunch jw.org as a revamped site - intended for bringing in yet more converts.

  for those who missed it, here is the relevant part of the leaked letter to elders discussing these changes.... the internet is a technology that jehovahs organization is using to good advantage to spread the good news to all corners of the earth.

  consider the impact our web sites are having.

  Do you think there are very many witnesses who are using tablets right now at the meetings? My son's father-in-law told me that there was a young man at his hall who had an ipad, had downloaded the study Watchtower, and that's what he was using instead of a printed Watchtower. Said he could even click a link and open up the scriptures that were cited. He thought it was great and might get one for himself.

  College and the Watchtower: Remember One Thing

  if any of you lurkers listen to a rant by the society against college, remember one thing:.

  the brother giving the talk is probably an utter hypocrite.. there are a few exceptions but consider that many elders are financially secure - which allows them to be elders.

  while they talk about not planning for the future because armageddon 'is so close', they have pensions, ira's, roth accounts and investments.

  hello, i am doing some research on 1975 again, and i came across this on a couple different sites:.

  are we to assume from this study that the battle of armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long-looked-for thousand-year reign of christ will begin by then?

  possibly, but we wait to see how closely the seventh thousand-year period of man's existence coincides with the sabbathlike thousand-year reign of christ.

  I think James Penton had a lot to say about it in the book, "Apocalyse Delayed," as to exactly what happened when he took over. Russell intended that the president was to be MacMillan.

  Doesn't anyone remember when this happened about 10 years ago? Longo was raised a witness, married a nice witness girl, and they had three children. He was also a ministerial servant in the Ypsilanti, Michigan, congregation but disfellowshipped when the elders found out he had been involved in credit card fraud. The murders were shocking beyond belief. He even tied pillowcases to his children's legs and filled them with stone so they would sink when he threw them alive into the bay in Oregon.

This guy had absolutely no remorse. After the murders he flew to Cancun, posed as a news reporter, and shacking up with an unsuspecting German girl when the authorities came to arrest him. I bet she still has nightmares about this.

  Now he's using his desire to help "save lives" by donating his organs--changing the law so that even prisoners can donate. Problem is--the process of execution actually makes the organs unfit. Well, you'll just have to read this article for more details.

  my daughter is also on her email list.

  i believe my daughter has informed her that i dont go to meetings any more, and i think my friend is trying to encourage me.

  however, my daughter has shunned me, my husband and her two brothers for almost five years even though none of us are dfd.

  millions of witnesses believe in "new scrolls", based on the following "spirit directed teachings";.

  "will jehovah use his holy spirit in the coming new world?

  that spirit will be the force behind the new scrolls that will be opened at that time".

  I don't know how many JW's Clyde asked the question, "Where does the Bible say NEW scrolls?" It simply says, "Scrolls were opened." - not NEW. By saying "new", the WT was adding to the word of God.
