I know a local elder who is getting a lot of flack for letting his son go to college, and I'm sure there are plenty more. But for someone to actually give a local needs talk. That's fantastic? They probably will give him the boot though. Let us know what happens.....

Prominet elder goes against the society's advice on education!!!
by Samuel Thorsen ini just wat to inform you that i have from absolutely trustworthy sources that rolf furuli (one of the absolutely best known and most recpected elders in norway, and altso a scolar known as a hard core 607-apologist among opposers) did have a local needs speech last week (or maybe the week before) where he went directly against the watchtower anti college education pollicy and warmly recomended all the young ones in the congregation to go on and get them self educated.. i wonder for how long ha can keep his position??
if he gets the boot wee'll se a theocratic earthquake here in norway..

Blondie or someone - could use your help on this - I distinctly remember an article, maybe 20 years ago, where the WT addressed the question, "Since all of Israel, including alien residents, celebrated the passover, why don't the other sheep partake?" - something like that.
Of course, the WT explained it away, but they could use similar reasoning to allow for everyone to take the emblems.

Just found out my daughter-in-law's father is trying to get her to return to meetings. She's frustrated right now, but she had a talk with my son how she wants more structure for her daughter--my granddaughter. My son doesn't want anything to do with the "truth", but I'm a little worried about her and especially my granddaughter.

Why can't US witnesses wish "good luck"?
by kifoy ini've often read here on jwd that a jw can't wish someone "good luck".
i've searched this forum and i've searched the wt library, but i have not been able to find anything.
can someone please explain why?

do you think that the jws that check out this site are affected ?
by looloo inobviously some of you were , but some topics i notice get huge amouts of folk reading them but not replying , i think that had i had internet access years ago and read some of these threads i wouldnt have lasted another week at kingdom hall , and yet i still imagine going to sit in the hall during a meeting so i could see what its like listening to a talk without a programmed mind and knowing that its a sign of a cult if your friends and family warn you its a cult but the cult tells you its just satan trying to get you out "the truth"!

from what I've seen of my relatives still in the witnesses - that if they personally have experienced injustice at the hands of the elders , or gone through unloving treatment personally , then looking at these sites can reaffirm what they are going through and if they read enough, yes , it can and has helped some escape the witness cult.
That being said, if witnesses have not gone through anything personally earth shattering while still in - they will continue to go along with the " mind control" being handed down from the Watchtower soiety.I agree with that. Until it affected me, I didn't realize how wicked this cult is. I find it hard to understand how any "WT spies" could monitor this site and not be affected themselves by what they read.

under "knocking opens the door on jehovah's witnesses," it states:.
