i don't know who wrote this but i found it interesting.

i heard a funny story about a cowboy who ambled into the local blacksmith shop and picked up a horseshoe, not realizing it had just come from the forge.

he immediately dropped the hot shoe, shoved his seared hand into his pocket and tried to act nonchalant.

People seem to have so many walls these days not wanting to let anyone in and so many doors closed to keep people out. How can you live and be yourself living this way. Seems to be so much fear.

Does God Exist?

i came across this on a different board.

i haven't taken the time yet to read it, but its being "heralded" by a christian as a debate in which a christian minister won via logic over a minister-turned-athiest on the topic "does god exist".

The Over-Commercialization of Christmas

is anyone else on here as disgusted as i am that right after halloween we are assaulted with an unending barrage of television commercials advertising christmas this and christmas that?.

when i was a kid, it was unthinkable to advertise anything about christmas before thanksgiving.. nowadays, these smiley-faced rosy-cheeked actors are hawking their christmas wares to the point where it has become nauseating!

it's easy to read between the lines -- what they're really saying is: (on their knees with hands clasped) "please, please buy our products!

By the time Christmas rolls around you get so tired of it because it's been around since Halloween you can't wait for it to all end. This year I saw Christmas decorations in the store before Halloween! As soon as Christmas is over it will be time for Valentines stuff! Can we not slow down and enjoy the moment?

How Do You Recognize and Understand God?

since mere words do not suffice and personal experience is just that.and since the act of knowing,reaching and touching god defies all words,and one has never had that personal experience,what then?.

do life and death questions remain unanswered and answered if you believe in a belief system based on the written word of others and then your own leaf of faith?.

since there have been centuries of change in the social,political,language,geographical and religious fields and schools of thought,the current bible is incomplete,many books have been deleted from it in order to preserve the church's power.the most glaring purge was at the ecumenical council of 325ce.. there isn't much left to answer the question except death itself.we buried my brother yesterday and i wonder if he finally has his answer.. blueblades

you see my afternoon started off ok until.........

i had my credit cards stolen and all my cash out of my purse......i was going to my girlfriends house to pick her up to go birthday shopping for my son...i pulled into her laneway,ran into get her and left my van unlocked and running.
