hi all - i can't be at the march, but i plan on being there in spirit by leaving 50 candles (votives in the bags w/sand) along with a lamb on the door w/a letter of explanation of why its there.. any other suggestions?.
Hi pettygrudger,
That sounds great, it will take a lot of courage to do that! I will say a little prayer, for you and all of the ones that are trying to make a difference in thousands of sexual abuse victims lives!!! As for me it will take every ounce of holy spirit or active force remaining in me to make it and I live in New York City. I think it will be one of the bravest things I've ever done as a JW. I am afraid of "rocking the boat" or "asserting myself". So for me, it will be a big thing.
Anyway, a prayer would be greatly appreciated!!! Knowing I won't be alone that day helps too.
i just finished listening to "what does our future hold" speech on randy's site, and it brought this thought to mind..... i don't feel the r/f jw's will see this as anything but satan's "deviously scheming" to bring an end to their organization.
after all, most who will attend the march are either "apostates" (or will be) or df'd.
i wonder if most will see it as a "sign" that the end is really near, and send them running back to the halls?.
Thanks! Patio34!
That sure put some light on the subject!!!

hi pettygrudger,
what is r/f?
I want to go to support the victims, I feel so strong about this, I'm sure we will be considered apostates or illegits. We have to do something for the abuse survivors! If we have enough faith maybe God will part the East River. Most likely, though, with the hurricane heading this way, we will be considered like the people of Noah's day.

some christian clear this up for me willya?
christians are saved thru the mediation of christ right?
if thats the case, will someone tell me why god spent 3000, 2000 years, however long, stuffing around with patriachs and israelites?
Hello Refiners Fire,
I understand your questions very well, as for answers, I thought I've had it figured out, oh say, for the past 30-some years, but as I am learning, these answers just don't make sense any more. I mean has God really dealt with one nation, then one organization, for the past 6,000 years? Does God really love some more than others? Did he bring a deluge on the whole earth and save only 8 souls? If he did deal with one nation in history and remove his spirit from them, then who is to say he can't, if he hasn't yet, remove his spirit from the modern day organization?
What I have managed to keep hold of all this time, and it hasn't been easy is that God is a God of Love, I have felt his force throughout my life, when others had abandoned me and my family. I have felt his presence in my life and yet still can't tell you what his master plan is. But something my grandmother always told me is "it'll all come out in the warshing, honey!"
And I really believe that, some things have been straightened out in my lifetime, but others may take a thousand years or longer, perhaps even eternity. I also think God gives us more credit than we humans give ourselves.
I don't think your questions are baited, they are legitimate and sincere questions any thinking person could have. I hope this is helpful, I wish I had more answers.
Sincerely,
eisenstein
i was thinking that since most of you have experianced shunning due to disfelowshiping or disassociation, that you might have some ideas adn scriptures to show how df and da shunning is unscriptural.
the elders were gracious enough to provide my wife with a packet to show how df'ng is scriptural and gag loving.. sean.
It would be nice to have a Jubilee Year like the Nation of Israel has, only in a symbolic way. For the society to welcome back with open arms all of its disfellowshipped members. Except that I think for most, the damage has been too severe for any recovery.

I agree with all of the above, we would be so fortunate to have had all of you as loving shepherds in the congregation. Yea, I think the whole idea of disfellowshipping is unscriptual and unchristian. Whenever a person is in spiritual trouble for what ever reason, the last thing he or she needs is to be shunned and isolated.
And like I mentioned on my post "he who is sinless cast the first stone". I don't think any judicial committee has a right to judge whether a person is unrepentent. And if they practiced that scripture(John 8:1-12), I mean it is in the bible for some reason, then it would alleviate a lot of disfellowshipping acts.
Another scripture that comes to mind is the one where Jesus was talking about the Pharisees and he likened them to children who cried out to their playmates, "We played the flute for you, but you did not dance, we wailed, but you did not beat yourselves in grief."...John the babtist came neither eating nor drinking, yet people say, "He has a demon"; the Son of man did come eating and drinking, still people say, 'Look! a man gluttonous and given to drinking wine, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' All the same, wisdom is proved righteous by its works.
Jesus instituted a new law, the law inscribed on every person's heart. The whole law he taught was based on love and I just don't think the organization gets this. They are always quick to apply any scripture relating to religious leaders or pharisees to other religions, but they are making hard fast binding rules to the flock themselves.
does anyone know why the new world translation omits john 8:1-11?
john 8:1 - but jesus went to the mount of olives.
2- at daybreak, however, he again presented himself at the temple, and all the people began coming to him, and he sat down and began to teach them.
Hi DJ!
In the NWT it is sectioned off (the first 11 verses of chapter 8) It isn't actually omitted from the bible. And over the years on the weekly bible reading, when they got to this chapter, they totally skipped it. No mention of it, can you believe this? I find this disturbing because it is such a basic teaching of Christianity.

John 8:1 - But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2- At daybreak, however, he again presented himself at the temple, and all the people began coming to him, and he sat down and began to teach them. 3- Now the scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught at adultery, and after standing her in their midst, 4 they said to him: " Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of committing adultery. 5- In the Law Moses prescribed for us to stone such sort of women. What, really, do you say?" 6- Of course they were saying this to put him to the test, in order to have something with which to accuse him. But Jesus bent down and began to write with his finger in the ground. 7- When ther persisted in asking him, he straightened up and said to them: "Let the one of you that is sinless be the first to throw a stone at her." 8- And bending over again he kept on writing in the ground. 9- But those who heard this began goping out, one by one, starting with the older men, and he was left alone, and the woman that was in their midst. 10- Straightening up, Jesus said to her: "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" 11- She said: "No one sir." Jesus said: " Neither do I condemn you. Go your way; from now on practice sin no more."
As far back as I can remember, no one has ever given a talk on these scriptures at the Kingdom Hall and it would always be skipped in the yearly bible reading, and yet it is such an important parable that Jesus taught his followers.
