Seriously Hib, why do you care what i or anyone else on this board does? you celebrate it the way you want, and i will celebrate it the way i want. hence the term 'to each his own'
I don't beleive in Jesus or anything to do with religion for that matter, but i do celebrate xmas because its fun, and i like spending hundreds of dollors on toys, and we like spending time as a family, i like lights and decorations. Its different for everyone.

i wanted to share this recent incident and it really pi$$es me off.
i called my grandfather yesterday who is a believing but inactive jw due to health reasons.
he is 83 and in very poor health and is alone since his wife died 3 years ago.
That is so sad, i am so sorry for what they are doing to him. I thought the elderly were suppose to be the wise amoung the flock, to learn from. It truly shows how much love they have amoung them in their actions.

One thing i will say is that she is the only one that i know that has done the successful fade, and her dad is an elder!

i realize this isn't jw related, but i've discovered a few people on this board also have auto-immune disorders, so i thought i'd cast out a net to see who else might have this problem.
about 6 years ago, i couldn't figure out why i couldn't get over a bout of the flu.
i threw up a lot, felt feverish, my joints ached to the point where i had a hard time walking, was all around tired, diarrhea, severe moodiness, strange little skin rashes that popped up within minutes of a meal, had asthma attacks (never had asthma before) lost weight (down to about 85 - 90 lbs).

I am allergic to dairy. I am not lactose intollerant, i am allergic. It causes migraines that last days and days, sometimes so bad that i have to go the emergency room and get a shot of a strong pain medication. I have had to do this a number of times in the past. So i stay away from anything dairy (the best i can). there are so many foods that have dairy in them than you would think. So i read labels everytime i go shopping, when milk is needed for a recipe i use Soy Milk, and i use tofu cream cheese in my mashed potato's, they are excellent! :) I cannot eat cakes, ice cream, pizza, pie's... or (sigh) Chocolate. Everything that people take for granted, i can't eat, but i have learned to live without it. I will have an occasional treat every once in a while and it wont affect me, but it has to be small and very far in between.
So i know your pain lady!

Sorry about what happening to your step daughter.
I appealed my df'ing. The rounded up another set of elders from another congregation, so now your commitee meeting consists of 6 elders (mine did anyway). Then they hear your story all over again, kick you out of the room, talk about it for a while, then have you back in there to let you know their decision, usually always in favor of what the original elders had decided.
I hope she doesnt allow it to go on for another 3 hours, that is just ridiculous.

My husband was in your same position, and with his help, love and concern, i am out now. We have never been happier, so there is hope.. i am living proof.
I really hope she reads your letter and takes it to heart. If my husband had written that to me, it would have stopped me in my tracks. I hope she does read it and you are both able to communicate your feelings to eachother.
