Absolutely not...unfortunately the same religious story has been taught for the last 4000 years...just recycled with slight changes...once the masses of people realize this, there could be many new ones...

i think we are already living in the age where there can be no new religions.
we have access to information like never before and anyone claiming revelations of something new and starting a whole new religion can easily be discredited.. christianity and islam may continue to subdivide but i think we've pretty much seen the end of anything new in terms of a new belief system.. .
what are your thoughts on this?.
Absolutely not...unfortunately the same religious story has been taught for the last 4000 years...just recycled with slight changes...once the masses of people realize this, there could be many new ones...

we have a version with our commentary: http://youtu.be/yn17rj_pyd4.
we also have an un-cut, un-edited version of the audio: http://youtu.be/pihfucr38sw.
asl version: http://youtu.be/dd635pqpdle.
Ignorance at its best.
it is a good thing that I don't debate the scriptures...I'd prefer to point out facts instead.
and as for me...I did not need to venture off to websites to find apostate material about JWs. No one cornered me and forced their views on me. Nope!
i read every Watchtower and Awake over the last 10 years, every paragraph, every scripture...I did not need anything external from the WTBRS to tell me this religion was BS...their own material did that. All I needed to do was pay attention, watch the slow change in thought in scriptures only to see it be presented as new light. i wasn't one of thOSS folks who focused on making my watchtower rainbow brite with colors indicating my answers in paragraphs. No I focused on the material...and continued to ask myself one question, does it make sense....
let me also mention that I never missed meetings. I went during my business trips, while on vacations, even traveling abroad....shows how much this guy knows...
this is a great share, thanks....I'm glad I left the craziness...all thanks given to the society...

i mean to say it only takes a couple of posts to identify a troll , what do they hope to acheive ?
they only convince me, how stupid they are, with not a thinking cell in their brain .. do they think its another avenue to get fs hours in ?
do they think their going to convince one of us to go back to the kh.?
A. Ashton,
I welcome those JWs who are looking for ways to combat their "truths". what I have to say cant be fixed by new light and keep the R&F faithful.
blacksheep,
how will you know the difference between an apologist or a troll? If active JWs are coming here for answers, especially when they know they are not supposed to be here, they deserve raw uncut facts...
as for me...I will make sure they receive them...

hello there i am new to the faith and have been studying for about a month.
i am very excited and hungry for the truth and have not missed a meeting or study since the memorial.
we do about 2 bible studies a week.
Objectivetruth,
the congregations I've attended over the last 11years, and there were many, would have considered a person who made a conscious decision to be a member of any gym or fitness center to be spiritually weak.
I caught flack for joining Lifetime Fitness...spending time working out or running or staying in shape instead of door to door ministry was a recipe for internal shunning...it didn't matter that I was doing informal witnessing.
it does not matter whether jnj is trolling or not ...one fact remains, knowing elders and others with YMCA memberships raises many Red Flags...
and quite frankly it would be great to hear the response from Jnj...

the article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.
they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.
perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.
Splash,
thanks for the summary

i'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.
in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.
really lame for a first post, but i figure i should start some where.
Kate,
thanks for the bump...I missed it a month ago
My situation is no better...my spouse has increased activity with the JW's. As if that will bring me back into the fold. I'm in it for the long haul.

I'll chime in here....
jnj,....continue your research outside of any information provided by the WTBTS.
While I too was questioned directly by a couple of posters about my status with the JW's, consider it normal. Not responding will only substantiate everyone's claim of you trolling. Including mine. You see, as a few have already pointed out, including one who was never a JW, there is a certain culture and language within the organization...it can't be faked...
if you truly seek assistance, you've come to the right place...but just poking your nose in is an insult to us who have gone through and still are going through much pain caused by this organization..
ive read through every post in this thread...you have not responded....what say you?
And for the record (everyone)...I plan on stomping out trolls...if there are active JWs on this site be very well aware that if you post on any topics I start...I will not be kind...even if it means I lose my membership....I believe in being raw and uncut about facts....because just as it was once said
"you want the truth....you can't handle the truth"
again....what say you?

one of my co workers mother made my 4 year old a blanket with the disney character tinkerbell on it.
as soon as i got it i knew trouble lay ahead.
i wanted to reason with her before my daughter saw it so as not to cause a disruption, but it didn't work out that way.
Bu2b I'm sorry about your situation. I am in a similar situation with my spouse. And I've had a few discussions with my kids, who may be a little older than your daughter. Again similar to your approach I phrased the question "How do you know Jehovah doesn't like that?".
Unfortunately, it's a never ending argument. And JWs are not consistent on what constitutes a disappointment in Jehovah's eyes.
I know there were JWs who had massive get togethers to go to movies like Thor, Superman, Spiderman and the Avengers. All of the characters in these movies are adult fairy tales.
How about regular TV? Are not the characters on these shows fictious? their stories and lives?..commercials? even so called reality tv is staged...
So where do the fairy tales start and end? It's all arbitrary and subjective...
So the real solution for JWs, to be pleasing to Jah is to turn off the Tv, lock themselves in their houses, unless they are going to meetings, field service, work or perhaps the grocery store.
A Very Sad State to live in....

ok so... how to condense all the flip-flops and doctrinal changes, and show graphically how the different doctrines changed, and when?.
ttatt in a can!!.
enjoy ;).
Excellent effort!
http://www.tylervigen.com/.
these are some funny correlations... which of course are not causations!!.
enjoy!
A correlation has physical meaning...while statistics is simply a comparison of numbers or sets of numbers. This is an Apples and Orange comparison.
