  this is an interesting lecture.

  one that flies in the face of current jw and i assume most non jw thinking.

  evidence shows that when examining history mankind was more violent over the centuries than they were during the 20th and 21st century.

  I have not read his book.

  But presuming the point is that the Western world's incidence of violence has declined dramatically, as our societies interconnect and provide employement, I would have to agree [and from a prophetic standpoint, exactly what I've been looking to substantiate].

  The 'marauding bandit' has been effectively put out of business.

  IMO, this is the period of 'peace' where the 'chain' of God's word is removed and replaced with humanism.

  The foretold 'great falling away' so obviously happening within Christianity now.

  Isn't it the 'falling away from God' that is the real 'sign of the times'?

  As in 'lawlessness' and the 'tearing off the chains' of God and his annointed.

  My takeaway from the prophecies is that during a time of relative PEACE is when the conclusion begins

  Unless you are citing the 'rumors of wars' that the Matthew 24 mentions?

  In any event, the Bible says that a time 'free from care' is when the hammer drops, coinciding with Steve's research.

  He will bring ruin in an extraordinary way,and he will be successful and act effectively. He will bring mighty ones to ruin, also the people made up of the holy ones.

  And by his cunning he will use deception to succeed; and in his heart he will exalt himself; and during a time of security he will bring many to ruin. He will even stand up against the Prince of princes, but he will be broken without human hand.

  so, i'm visiting family this week who are all jws.

  yesterday, it started with one of them talking about a co giving her some points on time keeping for service.

  she is now writing a letter before she drives to service, so she can count her drive time.

  I've turned in 1 hour for months at a time in the past.

  Nobody said a word. There is no reason for paranoia, at least in my congregation. The elders 'get it'.

  (or perhaps they know I'll start citing scriptures lol)

  Reading some stories here and I feel like I'm in a bizzarro world version of JWs where things are sensible .. I don't know?

  My XP as a JW has been extremely positive.

  No, that isn't true cofty.

  Daniel 2, 7 and 8 coupled with Revelation 13 explicitly show that the post-Roman system would collapse and usher in a one world system.

  Certainly, you can dismiss that and call it fairy tales, that is your choice.

  But there is mountain of meta-data to support the claim that the Bible is more than 'failed ramblings' against the light of history.

  What about the world is getting better? Easier lives for 1/7 of the population due to technology? Sure.

  ALL of the core problems with mankind remain however. And given my last post about finite resources tied to the population ... well.

  It's fairly obvious DJS.

  Technology took 1 billion to 7 billion people onto the planet in 100 years.

  Predicated on finite resources.

  It ain't rocket science!

  - earth and life destroying weapons exist

  - men are idiots

  - finite resources, multiple nation-state groups == ?? peace?

  The Bible predicts a one world government system channeled through a singular monetary system coming about after the collapse of the post-Roman nation-state system. No, I'm not joking.

  i have been wanting to introduce myself but i don't know where to begin.

  my husband and i are enjoying our third guilt-free weekend of our lives (both born-in, almost 30).

  he has been out mentally for the last year and a half but patiently waited for me to come around.

  7 billion people on earth owing their lives almost completely to finite resources which man learned to extract in the last 150 years.

  And these aren't the 'last days'? Come now!

  The post-Roman nation-state system is about to collapse on it's own weight ... so these temporal statistics mean precisely nothing :)

  JWs are correct in effect, IMO.

  i never really understood this.

  at least, after i started thinking about it recently.. if jesus died for our sins, wouldn't everyone be saved?

  what's the point of saying that his death gave all humans the chance to die if, appearantly, only 8 million people out of 7 billion will live?.
