  Stand Up Comedy about JWs

  hello all,i have just signed up to do a comedy course.

  it starts in september.in order to get a headstart, i did my first 5 minutes tonight about jws.i explained that i celebrated my first birthday last week.

  bemusement and a tittle.explained that if you could choose between hare krishnas and people standing at a trolley/cart as a religion who would you choose?got a laugh.explained that the whole world will be destroyed if you do not listen to our message, yet we are not prepared to initiate a conversation at a trolley.big laugh.

  New Monthly Broadcast - BE LOYAL! - Shut Up and Sit Down!

  the new broadcast is - predictably - about being loyal to the gb.it's a shut up and sit down message.. one of the funny things they keep bringing up is the correlation between the gb and moses.those who don't listen to the gb are like korah.. this is a false choice, why?let's look at a quick comparison.

  (this is from the point of view of the bible).

  was moses directly picked by god?- yeswas the gb directly picked by god?- well no, we actually are not told how the gb are picked and why the qualify.. did god talk to moses?- yesdoes god talk to the gb- no, they admit they are not in direct communication.. did god inspire moses to write laws and judge.- yesdoes god inspire the gb to write laws and judge.- no, they admit they are not inspired, and they are always wrong and need to change things all the time.. did god give the israelites undisputable proof that moses is his channel?- yes, many miracles visible to everyone one around happenddoes god give jws undisputable proof that the gb are his channel?- no, there is no proof, actually contrary.. was moses ever wrong?- nohas the gb ever been wrong?- every time.

  the meeting this week is mind-blowing in the way it fuels the crippling "persecution complex" of witnesses!.

  paragraph 1 set the theme with this gem:.

  does it shock you that you can expect to face many tribulations before you gain the prize of everlasting life?

  I ran into a sister today, and after a minute of small talk, she started going on about "how tough it is these days, and how bad the world is, and how the end MUST be getting close..."

  Oh dear....

  I just said "You know, there is something to be thankful for each day. Every day has something of worth or joy to focus on IF WE ALLOW ourselves to do so....Not everything is negative. Enjoy the life you have. Smile"

  Shibboleth or Sibboleth?

  it seems that for a witness to keep up with the ever changing doctrines, teachings, beliefs and ideas of the society is a way to identify a so called "spiritual one" compared to a "weak or non spiritual" one!.

  just like the account in "gideon's time", if someone did not pronounce the word shibboleth correctly, they were viewed with suspicion or even killed!.

  so too, if one doesn't know the latest "truth", they are to be viewed with suspicion or caution!.

  Exactly! Those who are not on the witness treadmill actually know MORE about the "current truth" from sites like this than the drones in the congregations do!

  It is never about the CONTENT of teaching, just the OBEDIANCE to the society....

  I have no prblems with "new light"

  there is nothing wrong with accepting new ideas.

  even apostle paul changed his mind when he "saw the light".

  indeed, i hope to learn new things every day.

  No problem with them changing policies, teachings etc if they want...

  BUT the issue I have is how they hide the past, or white-wash the past teachings, sweeping them under the carpet and pretending like it was the average witness who was wrong, or misguided....

  Also, if they say "New Light" is from God, yet God never gets things wrong, then was God wrong, or were they wrong?

  they have made so many strategical mistakes it's hard to keep track.

  some changes within the last decade or so that are contributing to declining numbers of jws:.

  1. elimination of book study groups, the most informal, enjoyable and sociable of the jw meetings, contributed to loss of sense of community among jws.. 2. policy of consolidating kingdom halls.

  Big Boldfaced Lie in Meeting Workbook for August 1-7, 2016

  there is a fundamental lie which i couldn’t help noticing today in the our christian life and ministry—meeting workbook for august 1-7, 2016. it is in the little supplemental page considered this week under the title “improving our skills in the ministry—helping bible students to progress to dedication and baptism,” in the first paragraph (labelled “why important”), third sentence.

  here is that sentence:.

  “a christian’s dedication is to jehovah—not to a human, a work, or an organization.”.

  But God chose the GB don't you know?

  So, because they are his direct channel, it is as if he himself is talking through them....

  BUT, that therefore means that God GOT THINGS WRONG SO MANY TIMES, and must be prone to mistakes....

  ok, 4 questions sprang to mind in light of the recent elders letter.. if you get to the kingdom hall and its on fire, brother a says he saw brother b set it ablaze purposely, .

  who do you call first and why?

  if you get to the kingdom hall and the sound system has been stolen, sister a says she saw brother b loading it onto his van,.

  what do you think will happen when they start knocking on doors and telling people that their families will be killed in armageddon because they did not believed in jehovah.
