The Who:
"wont get fooled again"
the work of john lennon best fit my situation.
first, i found out.

The Who:
"wont get fooled again"
so the study article 'setting your mind on the spirit means life and peace.
' at paragraph 9 a little pictorial lecture for anyone setting their minds on the flesh.
brother fleshly minded talking about having a sailboat.
Yes, because the very notion of spending time on a boat, "enjoying the wonders of creation" cant possibly bring one closer to "the creator Jehovah" now can it??
What if the sailboat is used to preach to people on islands?
Or what if the sailboat is used to enjoy an afternoon of spiritual refreshment with the friends, after first preaching all morning, and then sitting on the deck studying the latest articles from the Faithful and Discreet Slave?
has anyone else seen that "classic" music clip in the june broadcast yet??.
"don't run too fast".
if not, do yourself a favour and watch it!.
So one month we are told to "keep the pace" and keep up, and the next month we are told "not to run too fast"??!!
Huh?
Anyone else confused?
so we were talking about noah for our family worship tonight and it ended with a little debate between me and my parents about how the flood was possible.
you know, where did the water come from, how did all the animals fit, etc.
of course it led nowhere and my parents came up with some strange theories like that there was "an expanse of water in the sky" and that's where all the water came from.
Well said Giordano!
Great points.
when the co is visiting, i think i hear "thank you , jehovah, for this special week of activity" until i want to vomit.. also "jehovah, please remember those sick and afflicted.
we pray that they can make a recovery and be back with us.".
stale, canned, institutionalized garble.
Yes! Great thread.
The other "prayers" that bug me are those that seem to "teach" Jehovah something by previewing or reviewing the content of the meeting or article...as if he wasn't listening or paying attention!
"dear J, thankyou for the WT that just taught us (list several points)" We can imagine him hearing the prayer and saying "yer, I know! I was listening too you know"
this video speaks volumes about watchtower failed prophecies and hyped up dead end promises.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhn6zf1hl2a.
Well said toesup!!
Well said indeed.
It is the same old same old...just repackaged for a new generation! (sorry, for an overlapping yet same generation)

Hey Blackwolf, watch this clip!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I225Vcs3X0g
Especially at the end, where he uses logical and undeniable facts of comparison...
Humorous and Factual!

It is toward the end of the whole June broadcast...
(perhaps someone can post a link?)
Try getting the corny words and music out of your head afterward!
a famous and very smart man once said:.
"the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" (albert einstein).
by that definition then, is the society or are witnesses in general insane?
A famous and very smart man once said:
"The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" (Albert Einstein)
By that definition then, is the society or are witnesses in general insane? After all, they have repeatedly proclaimed dates, or "time periods" for the end to come - that have always proven to be wrong.
Then, they have denied ever having done so.... yet repeat the very cycle for the next generation (sorry, I mean the same overlapping generation)
a few years ago while traveling in the northeast, my wife and i stopped in new haven, connecticut, at a b&b we'd reserved for the night.
no sooner had we unpacked and moved into the living room for tea and treats, our hosts began to talk about religion, and we learned they were jehovah's witnesses.
i didn't mind so much, but my wife was outraged that our hosts would use their place of business as a launching point to do missionary work.
Well said problemaddict2!
Turn the tables on them by that wise line of comments!
Love it!
