The watchtower society, or JW.org is not a counterfeit Christian religion! Just ask them, and they will tell you that they alone are the TRUE Christians...

Counterfeit Christians
by Chook incounterfeit christian beliefs can only be discovered with a close look.
the problem with anything counterfeit is that it looks genuine even under close scrutiny.
us 100 dollar bill is the most counterfeit currency, some of the best bank staff have trouble sorting genuine from real.

Is remaining ignorant a choice?
by stuckinarut2 inis remaining ignorant about the society a choice?.
surely every witness has a moment in time when "something just doesn't seem right"?
perhaps a teaching, doctrine, an article, a talk, a news report about child abuse handling, or a jwdubdotorg broadcast, a video, a cartoon for the kids....you know....?.

Sorry 'a watcher', but the society says in no uncertain terms that the ONLY way to have that 'relationship with Jehovah and Jesus" is to be part of their 'earthly organization'.
The organisation 'speaks for god' so we have always been told!
So have 'Jehovah and jesus' been getting things wrong?

Adult survivor of sexual abuse as a child
by life is to short ini showed the video from the midweek meeting of september 12th to my counselor to get her take on it.
she said that it clearly was a propaganda video and was appalled that it was shown to an audience that had small children in it.
she said that they could have been way more generic in their way of portraying the women as having been abused.. the subject of sexual abuse and the way the video zeroed in on it would have small children asking questions that really did not need to be addressed.

The society would gain so much more if they just did this:
In one of the videos, make a comment such as:
"aren't we thankful that Jehovah has helped us to see that even his followers have not always handled matters in the best possible way over the years"
"We are so appreciative that we have been assisted in this modern age to make adjustments and changes. Yes, we apologise for the way some matters have been mishandled, but we trust that as we move closer to the new world, Jehovah will continually help us to get closer to his perfect standards!"

The bOrg Cult Tactics
by pale.emperor ini'm wondering if the borg actually studied mind control and coercion tactics deliberately or wether they just evolved over time through trial and error.
from reading steve hassans books, studying hypnosis and methods psychopaths use it all seems very complex.
like it would never occur to me to do a, b and c in the right order at the right time in order to get control of someone or control their lives.. for example, repetition of words (the word "loyalty" was a big one in the last convention), using loaded language, encouraging people not to trust their own thoughts, restricting their information, demonising those who leave etc.

So, do we choose to remain ignorant. Do we choose to just say "oh it must be ok because the GB are always correct"?
Or in this day and age of easily accessible facts to research, do we allow themselves to dig a little deeper AS THE BIBLE ITSELF ENCOURAGES all to do.? After all, the very nature of our lives are dependent on facts.
Facts do not cease to exist just because they are ignored....

Does anyone know what this is?
by Tameria2001 inyesterday my sister cut her foot on a piece of metal that was sticking out of my yard.
i've lived in my home for almost 8 years now, and well i'm guessing this thing must have worked it's way up to the surface or something, never seen this thing before.
i started to dig it up, and the thing just kept getting bigger and bigger.

I doubt they set out to deliberately use those tactics, but they certainly have become very good at manipulation....

Yes!
I also showed a counsellor the video.
She was disgusted at the manipulative nature of it!
The way they cherry picked some points and obviously excluded other more important issues was terrible. (For example, no mention was made about a victim seeking counselling)
