perhaps a teaching, doctrine, an article, a talk, a news report about child abuse handling, or a jwdubdotorg broadcast, a video, a cartoon for the kids....you know....?.
Well, its been several years since attending anything 'witnessy', and yet my die-hard extended family have not asked for any reasons.
It is as if they just dont want to know...or are scared to know the real reasons! I told them I have a list of issues that I am happy to share if they wish, but I would not force that knowledge on them.
They have chosen to remain ignorant of those reasons.
as all witnesses know, the opening gambit of the great tribulation will occur when the united nations turns on organized religion to devastate them and leave them naked of people and resources.
however, as jehovah's judgement day has been spoken of as being "imminent", the question that can be fairly asked ... 'is the united nations organization actually in a position to act as god's destroyer of false religion?
while i have no doubt that most within that organization had in the past tried to make the lives of the desperate better, the united nations has unfortunately now become a weak and underfunded political eunuch.
The society likes to think that everything revolves around them...as if the whole world is out to get them.

You make a great point here nicolaou! Especially as witnesses try and make everyone in the community evaluate and research their religious faith and background! But that same deep investigation is NOT encouraged into the society's past!
as if anymore proof were needed that what used to be the religion i was baptized into has ceased to exist i was asked this insane question, when i mentioned to a jdub that someone i knew was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

i didn't used to really think about that insane question in the past, but now that i have woke up to ttatt it is glaringly obvious that they think there can be no chance of actually knowing and getting along with anyone outside their tiny circle of conditional friends.
Yes, the classic way to speak about ones we know (friends) who are not witnesses is to say "an aquaintance I know" rather than "a good friend of mine"
Witnesses cant say they have friend unless that friend is a witness...

So if it now OK to use a blatantly worldly / pagan song as long as the words are changed, then how about these options?

counterfeit christian beliefs can only be discovered with a close look.
the problem with anything counterfeit is that it looks genuine even under close scrutiny.
us 100 dollar bill is the most counterfeit currency, some of the best bank staff have trouble sorting genuine from real.
The watchtower society, or JW.org is not a counterfeit Christian religion! Just ask them, and they will tell you that they alone are the TRUE Christians...
